Ingrid Andress claims she was drunk during her highly criticized national anthem performance at the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby – and is now checking herself into rehab.
“I’m not gonna bulls–t yall, I was drunk last night,” she wrote via X on Tuesday. “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need.”
Andress, 32, went on to say that she was not herself during the performance. She also issued an apology to the MLB, the league’s fans and this country that she “loves so much.”

“I’ll let y’all know how rehab is hear it’s super fun,” she concluded.
Reps for Andress did not immediately respond to Pvnew’s requests for comment.
Andress released the statement one day after she was ridiculed for the horrible rendition of the national anthem she delivered at the MLB Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas, Monday night.
During the performance, the country singer struggled to hit notes as several players on the field, most notably Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm, could be seen attempting to hide their laughter.
Fans ripped the four-time Grammy nominee apart on social media.
“What in the world???? Dear lord that was painful!” wrote one X user.
“That Ingrid Andress national anthem might have been the worst thing to happen in America in the last 48 hours #brutal,” added another.
“I’m so sorry, I’m sure Ingrid Andress is a wonderful person, but that was one of the worst national anthems I think I’ve ever heard in my whole life,” tweeted a third user.
Other fans compared Andress’ performance to that of Fergie’s at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.
“I know Fergie is smiling today. After hearing Ingrid Andress sing the National Anthem. After seeing her performance, all I can think of is the episode of Bob’s Burgers with the Oil Spill song,” wrote one person.
“Ingrid andress giving fergie a run for her money,” added another.
In 2021, Andress was nominated for a Grammy for best new artist, best country song for “More Hearts Than Mine” and best country album for “Lady Like.”
Two years later, she earned her fourth nomination for “Wishful Drinking,” her duet with Sam Hunt.
