Paula Abdul is straight up blessed.
The 60-year-old pop icon revealed the secret to her youthful appearance in an exclusive interview with Pvnew at Saturday night’s Homeless Not Toothless Hollywood Gala in Los Angeles.
“I always say, ‘Thank you, Dad.’ My dad’s Syrian and Brazilian,” she said, acknowledging genetics passed down from her beloved late father, Harry Abdul, as she clasped her hands in prayer and gazed upwards.
Paula also gave credit to her late mother, Lorraine M. Abdul, with whom she was also very close.
“And my mom had [a] beautiful fair complexion,” the Grammy winner noted, agreeing that she inherited “the best of both” parents.
As talented as the singer, dancer and choreographer is, she has been equally praised for her stunning looks throughout her decades-long career.
In December 2022, she appeared particularly young in a series of social media pics taken at her good pal Kathy Hilton’s annual Christmas party. Many fans even expressed disbelief over Paula’s sprightly glow, assuming it was the result of ample Photoshop.
“holy s–t!! She looks like a little girl,” one person commented, while another chimed in that the “editing here is embarrassingly obvious.”
But at Saturday’s charity event — helmed by “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Dorit Kemsley — an unbothered Paula suggested that her fresh face is simply hereditary.
“I lucked out with [my father’s] genes,” the Grammy winner told us.
Paula arrived at the Beverly Hilton hotel in a gorgeous crimson gown and sparkling diamond jewelry to support Homeless Not Toothless.
The nonprofit organization was founded in 1992 to provide dental care for disadvantaged communities in LA, including veterans, the homeless, foster youth and low-income persons.
“It’s a wonderful cause. Anything that can give people self-esteem and strive to be … a part of the world, living, working, giving them that confidence to be able to do that, it starts with a smile,” she told us. “It really does.”
Paula elaborated, “once they’ve established that … they’re comfortable, they’re just smiling, they have a new outlook on life and it changes the trajectory of their life.”
The “Forever Your Girl” songstress was on hand to announce the evening’s silent auction and introduce special guest performer Taylor Dayne.
Dayne, 61, belted out her hits for a crowd that included the “RHOBH” cast, plus Kemsley’s co-board members William H. Macy and Sharon Stone. The festivities were captured for the forthcoming 13th season of the Bravo reality show.
