Wayne Brady quietly welcomed a baby months ago.
The comedian told “Wayne Brady: The Family Remix” viewers about his newborn son, Val, during the Freeform reality show’s premiere Wednesday, admitting that the little one was “not on [his] bingo card.”
He confessed, “When I first found out … I was floored. A 51-year-old dad? I didn’t see it coming. So was I happy? No. Because I was in shock.”

Brady, now 52, acknowledged he is in “uncharted territory” co-parenting Val with his ex-girlfriend Tina, whom he “dated during the pandemic on and off” before breaking up.
“How do I co-parent with this person that I am not with and make this work?” he asked.
The actor’s ex-wife Mandie Taketa and their 21-year-old daughter, Maile, similarly expressed hesitation about the news.
Taketa, 48, noted that she and Tina “don’t get along.”
She also broke down the timeline of Brady’s ex’s pregnancy, explaining, “Tina and Wayne had been broken up a year. Then [his] grandma Val passes away, so we go to her funeral in the Virgin Islands, then we come back.
“Something happened — you fill in the blank,” Taketa continued. “Then, two weeks later, we get a phone call from Tina that she’s pregnant with Wayne’s baby.”
As for Maile, her parents “didn’t want her to know about the pregnancy” because of “how she felt about Tina,” according to Taketa.
“Maile will say she warned Wayne about this happening,” Taketa said, adding that she “didn’t make eye contact with Maile for three months” while keeping the secret.
As expected, Maile did not “initially [feel] super happy” about her half-sibling’s arrival and was “worried” about her father.
“Tina does not live her life in complete honesty,” Maile said. “The string of events is suspicious. I don’t enjoy her presence.”
Brady and Taketa were married from 1999 to 2007. She moved on with Jason Michael Fordham and welcomed son Sundance, now 2, in 2021.
The “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” star, who came out as pansexual last year, has remained close friends with Taketa since their split and quarantined with her during the COVID-19 pandemic.
