Vice President Kamala Harris’ model stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, is proud of her “brat” status.
The 25-year-old daughter of Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, celebrated Harris being dubbed “brat” by British singer Charli XCX on her Instagram Story Monday, writing, “charli_xcx gets it.”
She shared her thoughts via text she placed over Charli’s viral tweet from Sunday, which reads “kamala IS brat.”

Charli released her sixth studio album “brat” on Sunday, and it’s quickly become the hot term of the summer.
According to Charli herself, “brat” refers to the girl “who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes.”
“Who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown,” she added in a TikTok video. “But kind of like parties through it, is very honest, very blunt. A little bit volatile. Like does dumb things.”
Overall, “brat” is about owning everything about oneself — including the ugly.
Harris, 59, appears to be welcoming the 31-year-old pop star’s “brat” endorsement with open arms. Her official campaign account on X, @KamalaHQ, changed its banner to match the style of the “brat” album cover.
The cover has a blurry and black “brat” written across a lime green background, and KamalaHQ’s X banner now has “kamala hq” in lowercase with the same blurry style and background.
Fans have also made several fun social media edits by splicing speeches made by Harris and setting them to Charli XCX songs. A fan-favorite meme includes a quote from May 2023 when Harris recalled her mother asking her as a kid, “You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?”
Fans have placed a green hue over videos and photos of Harris as well.
Charli’s “brat” compliment came hours after President Joe Biden announced his decision to drop out of the 2024 presidential race and give his “full support and endorsement for Kamala” to run as the Democratic nominee.
George Clooney, who critiqued Biden, 81, in an op-ed earlier this month urging him to leave the race, also publicly supported Harris.
“President Biden has shown what true leadership is. He’s saving democracy once again,” he said in a statement to CNN Tuesday.
“We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest.”
