Travis Kelce is the right fit for Taylor Swift’s fame, according to his coach.
Andy Reid shared in a new interview that he believes the high-profile relationship is “great for” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
“He can handle [the attention],” the team’s head coach said on the Athletic’s “Scoop City” podcast Tuesday. “As a matter of fact, I think he probably loves it to a point.”

Reid, 66, said the “outgoing” tight end, 34, has “kind of grown into it,” gushing, “He comes into a room and he’s going to light the room up. Everybody’s his best friend. Until you prove him wrong, everybody’s a friend.”
He went on to call Kelce’s appearances at Swift’s Eras Tour a “great escape” for the three-time Super Bowl winner.
“When he goes to her concerts, she’s the star,” he said. “He can be hanging out there and be the support or the water boy, so he can do that.”
Reid noted that the same went for Swift, also 34, when she watched many of her boyfriend’s NFL games last season.
“[When] she comes to the game, she can kind of escape having to be the show,” he pointed out.
Swift and Kelce began dating in July 2023 but did not go public with their romance until two months later.
The athlete’s brother, Jason Kelce, called his sibling’s subsequent fame “crazy” in a “Whiskey Ginger” podcast episode last month.
“Travis and Taylor have taken it to another level,” the retired Philadelphia Eagles player said in June. “Like, you can’t be a normal person at that point.”
The couple, however, have been vocal about not wanting to hide their relationship.
“We’re showing up for each other; other people are there, and we don’t care,” the Grammy winner told Time magazine in December 2023. “We’re just proud of each other.”
Travis, for his part, explained on “Good Morning America” in June that he remains a “very grounded guy” in the public eye by having “good family and friends” around.
That same month, he joined Swift onstage during a London concert — and admitted the headline-making cameo was his idea.
The former reality star explained on his and Jason’s “New Heights” podcast that he initially proposed “roll[ing] out on one of the bikes” during the show’s “1989” segment.
The self-proclaimed “ham” recalled, “She found the perfect part of the show to put me in [during ‘The Tortured Poets Department’]. … It was, like, the safest option.”
Although Travis teased more appearances at the time, he remained in the audience during his girlfriend’s Amsterdam shows earlier this month.
