She’s totally “Fearless.”
Taylor Swift’s friend Gracie Abrams revealed the pop superstar bravely extinguished a fire in her $50 million New York City apartment after a candle toppled over during a dinner party.
“She was such a legend — I don’t know how at this hour or in our state she knew what to do,” Abrams, 24, told Billboard of the scary incident in an interview published Tuesday.

The “Risk” singer recalled enjoying dinner and an abundance of cocktails at Swift’s ritzy Tribeca loft six months ago when they both distantly heard a candle falling over in the night.
Abrams said the “Cruel Summer” singer, 34, had assured her that the sound was most likely just one of her cats jumping around her home.
But well past dawn the following morning, they realized that Swift’s kitchen had been set ablaze, prompting the hungover Grammy winner to jump into action to tame the flames.

“We both had an insane cough from the fire extinguisher fumes for weeks,” Abrams added.
The evening wasn’t a total disaster, though. Just hours before, the close friends finished co-writing “Us,” which is part of the “Close to You” singer’s 13-track sophomore studio album, “The Secret of Us,” which drops Friday.
“Something caught our ear at the same time very hard and fast,” Abrams remembered, noting that they were listening to instrumentals created by their mutual collaborator and pal Aaron Dessner at the time.

“So we ran to the piano and started writing this song. … I used to fantasize about that kind of a thing as a kid,” she added.
The same night, Swift previewed some songs from her “Tortured Poets Department” album, which she had yet to release — or announce.
Abrams reminisced about her and the “Lover” singer dancing “like theater kids” to “But Daddy I Love Him” and lying gobsmacked on the floor after hearing “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.”

Swift captured the moment by snapping photos of Abrams flat on her floor with her hands over her face, which the latter shared on Instagram in December 2023 for the former’s birthday, writing, “I love you so much I’m always on the floor about it.”
Fans flocked back to the post this week to flood the comments section after Abrams’ interview about the incident went live.
“WE FINALLY KNOW WHAT GRACIE IS ON THE FLOOR FOR,” one person exclaimed.

Another Swiftie replied, “Came back here for just this reason.”
“But actually. Now its been /confirm/ied,” a netizen wrote.
Abrams, who was nominated for best new artist at the Grammy earlier this year, served as one of the opening acts on the first leg of Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour in 2023. She will return during the final US shows later this year.
