He’s gotta fight for his right to party.
Jason Kelce got plenty of attention for his wild Kansas City Chiefs overalls at the 2024 Super Bowl on Sunday, and in the latest episode of his “New Heights” podcast, he revealed there was a secret, practical reason behind his colorful choice of attire.
“I had to break out the Chiefs overalls for this big one,” the 36-year-old Philadelphia Eagles player told his brother, Travis Kelce, 34, during Wednesday’s episode.
Jason — who went viral for ripping his shirt off at the Chiefs vs. Bills game last month — admitted that the look helped keep himself in check during his brother’s big game.
“I was trying to figure out what to wear, and I figured if I went with the overalls, and I had straps, they could hold my shirt down,” he said.
“The straps would hold my shirt on so I wouldn’t take my shirt off when I felt the desire to,” the NFL star explained. “I’d be more composed.”
The tight end wasn’t upset by his brother’s shirtless antics, saying, “Nothing would have been better than seeing your nipples on the field, man” before they discussed some people who ran out without shirts at the game.
“What’s a Super Bowl without a streaker?” he said with a laugh.
Social media users were already in on the plan at Sunday’s game, with one fan tweeting, “Are the overalls so Jason can’t take Jason’s shirt off again?
