Tori Spelling’s brother, Randy Spelling, has her back as she navigates financial woes and health issues.
“We remain close, and I’m proud of her,” he told People in an interview published Monday. “I think she’s a very strong person. She is resilient.”
The siblings grew up in Los Angeles’ ritzy Bel Air neighborhood with their father, the late TV producer Aaron Spelling, and mother Candy Spelling.
The “Old-ish” podcast host, 44, told the outlet that he always “looked up” to his older sister, 50, as a kid — even if their age gap made bonding difficult at times.
“I just wanted my older sister. I looked up to her. I wanted to watch cartoons, she wanted to watch the news. I’m sure I annoyed the heck out of her,” he said.
“So it went from that to being close over the years in a different way. I think sometimes I’m big brotherly, sometimes there’s a beautiful equanimity. Sometimes, I’m still [a] little brother.”
Tori presumably needs support from loved ones now more than ever.
The “Melrose Place” alum — who spent a good portion of the year living out of a $100-a-night motel and, later, an RV — has been reportedly “struggling monetarily” as her financial issues intersect with health concerns and her split from Dean McDermott.
It’s unclear where Tori and her kids currently live, but she briefly returned to work last month before being hospitalized for an unknown condition.
Earlier this month, she made an appearance at ‘90s Con in Tampa, Fla., where she was criticized for seemingly continuing to get cosmetic fillers despite her “not great” financial situation.
Meanwhile, her now-estranged husband, McDermott, 56, announced this summer that the couple had called it quits after nearly two decades of marriage.
“It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways, and start a new journey of our own,” the actor, 56, wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
Despite her rough year, Tori — who shares Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10, and Beau, 6, with McDermott — appeared to be in good spirits on Sept. 10 when she was spotted grabbing a bite to eat at a McDonald’s in LA.
