She’s 50 and fabulous.
Molly Sims made a sparkling statement on the cover of the 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue this month, and while plenty of people have praised her for looking great for her age, the model would love to change the narrative.
“I hate when people are like, ‘Oh, my God. She looks good for 50.’ Listen, I’m not trying to look 30. I’m definitely not trying to look 20. I am trying to look the best that I can,” she told Us Weekly.

The YSE Beauty founder — who turns 51 on Saturday — wore a form-fitting pink sequined gown on the cover of Sports Illustrated, sharing that starring in the mag in her twenties “was a big deal.”
Sims told Us Weekly that she found the experience of posing for SI Swimsuit much different as someone “coming from runway.”
“I felt like they accepted me more as opposed to being just rail-thin,” the former “House of Style” host — who wore a glittering mesh dress to the magazine’s 60th anniversary party last week — explained.
The mom of three went on to pose for six issues of the bikini bible in the early aughts, but it took age and experience for her to feel more comfortable in her skin.
Last month, she opened up on “Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone” about being called “too fat” and people claiming she had a “crooked” nose in the early days of her career.
As for YSE Beauty, which launched in April 2023, the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast host said the name of her skincare line (which is pronounced “wise”) was inspired by her “very wise” late mother.
“YSE was born from a really bad situation that I had gotten myself into with my skin and hyperpigmentation and unevenness,” Sims shared. “A lot of things that I was using, they didn’t have efficacy. With YSE, I’m all about efficacy without messing up the barrier.”
The “Everyday Chic” author added that she wanted her products — which include items like a Vitamin C Cocktail Serum ($85) and Skin Glow SPF 30 Primer ($48) — to look as good as they feel and make people “proud to have it on their vanity.”
“I don’t want to be spoken to like I’m someone’s grandmother,” Sims said. “I don’t want to be targeted like, ‘I’m sorry you’re so old.’ I don’t want my products to reflect that.”
At the end of the day, she said simple is best.
“I wanted something easy because as a mom, I don’t have a lot of time for downtime. If I did, I would be in my closet drinking, but I don’t have time.”
