Royal experts believe Prince William and Kate Middleton have no desire to reunite with Prince Harry or Meghan Markle.
Harry, 38, flew to London Thursday without Markle, 42, to attend a WellChild charity event, one day before the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
While it’s unclear if the Duke of Sussex will join family members in honoring his late grandmother’s memory, royal expert Kinsey Schofield suspects that William and Kate are “dreading” Prince Harry’s visit.
“It is my understanding that the Prince and Princess of Wales have no desire to meet with Harry – with or without Meghan Markle,” Schofield told Fox News in an interview published Thursday.
“There is a severe lack of trust, and they don’t want the conversation repeated to anyone.”
The “To Di For Daily” podcast host added that William and Middleton, both 41, most likely don’t want Harry’s presence to distract from honoring the longest-reigning British monarch, who died on Sept. 8, 2022 at age 96.
“Especially when William and [Middleton] are expected to publicly acknowledge the anniversary of the late queen’s passing. Harry will be, no doubt, a distraction and will create conflicting headlines that the palace will not appreciate,” Schofield said.
“He’s damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t. … It’s a tough spot to be in, but Harry seems to be prioritizing philanthropy right now. I’m not surprised by his eagerness to attend.”
The “R is for Revenge Dress” author predicted that Harry would mention Queen Elizabeth while giving his speech at the WellChild Awards.
Schofield was accurate in his prediction, as Harry honored his grandmother during his speech at the WellChild event on Thursday evening.
“As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year as my grandmother passed away,” he told the audience. “As you also probably know, she would have been the first person to insist that I still come to be with you all instead of going to her.
“And that’s precisely why I know, exactly one year one, that she is looking down on all of us tonight, happy we’re together, continuing to spotlight such an incredible community.”
Schofield said that Harry will quickly head over to Düsseldorf to kick off the Invictus Games after his appearance and that he is not expected to join his royal family members at Balmoral Castle in Scotland to honor the Queen.
Another royal expert, Hilary Fordwich, agreed that Harry will be skipping out on the Balmoral family gathering.
Fordwich also noted that the castle, where Queen Elizabeth II passed away, is where King Charles III, 74, and Queen Camilla, 76, are currently residing and plan to mourn her loss privately and in no official capacity.
“Prince Harry won’t be meeting with either his father or brother,” Fordwich predicted in an interview with Fox. adding, “Prince William will be in Wales with Kate and lead tributes to the late queen.”
Fordwich also said there is little chance Harry will mend his relationship with his brother during his brief trip across the pond.
“The estrangement between Harry and William looks most unlikely to be repaired anytime soon,” she said, claiming, “The senior royals are letting geographic distance in the UK serve as a convenient buffer.”
Pvnew exclusively reported in August that the royal family’s plans to gather on the first anniversary of the Queen’s death is not a formal royal event after reports swirled that Harry and Markle weren’t invited to Balmoral.
“I know the palace has said nothing official is happening,” the source shared, adding that honoring the late Queen is very “personal.”
Instead, we were told Harry and Markle will mourn the late queen “in their own way” and that the couple hadn’t “received any information or invitation to plans marking the anniversary of her death.”
Meanwhile, William and Kate, along with their three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, as well as disgraced Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and other royal family members, are reportedly going to join Charles and Camilla at Balmoral to commemorate the late Queen.
Sources previously claimed to The Sun that the royal family is keeping their distance from the Sussexes because of Harry’s continued feud with William.
Tensions between the brothers have been at an all-time high after Harry dropped his bombshell memoir “Spare,” in which he claimed he was physically attacked by William.
Meanwhile, there have been longstanding rumors of a feud between Markle and Middleton.
The “Suits” star and Harry — who resigned from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to Montecito, Calif., where they reside with their kids Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2 — attended Queen Elizabeth’s funeral together on Sept. 19. 2022.
Harry has since stayed away from his family, though he did travel across the pond sans Markle to attend his father’s coronation ceremony in May.
Markle is expected to meet Harry in Germany for their Invictus games, marking the couple’s first joint trip to Europe since the funeral.
