Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup are in the honeymoon phase.
The actress dished on their “pretty great sex” life last week, nearly three months after the duo walked down the aisle.
“I personally think sex becomes more pleasurable when you take out the fear of making babies,” Watts said at a Hampton Bays event last week, per the Daily Mail.
The 54-year-old joked, “What is that expression? ‘Closed for business, open for pleasure.’
“It feels more like, ‘I’m going to do this for myself’ [because] you’re more confident with yourself, you’ve had experience, you’re wiser,” she continued.
When asked about her sex position of choice, Watts cheekily replied, “On top, underneath. Right now, I’m not fussy.”
The “King Kong” star called communication “key” during the conversation, which was entitled: “Unlocking Intimacy and Navigating Passion in Midlife.”
She explained, “If you can talk to your partner, if you can be honest and have a really authentic conversation and take away the awkwardness … they will be empathetic and that’s hot.”
The Oscar nominee noted that when she and Crudup, 55, first started dating in 2017, she used estrogen patches during intimacy.
“I was nervous that my new lover was going to see it,” Watts, who has been open about going through menopause in her 30s, recalled.
She explained that the sticky residue from the patch “took days” to come off.
“I went into the bathroom just before it would start and I’d be in there [scrubbing it off] and then I’d come out. And my gorgeous partner said, ‘Are you OK? Is everything OK?'” she went on.
She credited the “Morning Show” star with knowing “how to behave” once she “brought honesty into the room despite how awkward and hard” it felt.
“He knew what cues to follow,” Watts remembered. “He was 100 per cent empathetic and I can safely say we went on to have, you know, pretty great sex that night.”
Later on, she emphasized the importance of “leaning into” her current phase of life and acknowledging that “a lot of women are horny at this age.”
She and Crudup said “I do” in New York City in June.
“Hitched!” Watts captioned on Instagram a photo of herself and her new husband on the steps of a Manhattan courthouse.
The bride stunned in a white Oscar de la Renta dress, which matched her simple bouquet of flowers, while her her partner looked smart in a navy suit and a white button-up.
The actor shares 19-year-old son William with his ex Mary-Louise Parker, whom he left when she was seven months pregnant for fellow actress Claire Danes.
Watts, for her part, previously dated Liev Schrieber for a decade.
Since the former couple split in 2016, they continue to co-parent their two children — Sasha, 15, and Kai, 14.
