She’s getting unfiltered.
Valerie Bertinelli took to Instagram on Tuesday to call out people who have criticized her use of filters, going makeup-free in a keeping-it-real clip that got plenty of praise from her followers.
“I am filming with no filter today because some of you all get really bent out of shape when I choose to use a filter,” the “Kids Baking Championship” host, 63, started off the video, adding that she’s been clear with her fans that she sometimes chooses to filter her posts.
“This is me with no makeup and this is no filter,” Bertinelli — who wore a casual gray hoodie and glasses in the clip — shared.
The “One Day at a Time” alum went on to tell her followers that “another person commented that I’m wearing a wig,” tilting her head down to the camera to reveal her gray roots.
“Can you get me a wig without flipping gray roots please, because I’m tired of getting my roots done every two weeks,” she quipped.
Bertinelli was grateful that most of her fans are supportive, sharing, “Thank goodness 99.9 percent of you are like, really kind and sweet people and don’t get a flying flip whether I have roots or I put a filter on.”
However, she pointed out that “some of y’all need to chill out, okay? I mean seriously,” before bursting into giggles.
Her Instagram followers jumped in to praise the Food Network Star for her honesty, including Tiffani Amber Thiessen, who wrote, “don’t give that any energy friend. It ain’t worth it. I literally erase and ignore that noise. Did that for my sanity a long time ago. lol! Happy New Year gorgeous ❤️❤️.”
