This royal is honoring Britain’s healthcare heroes in style.
Kate Middleton brought back a polka-dot Alessandra Rich dress in a new video released yesterday to celebrate the 75th birthday of the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), and her colorful style held a hidden tribute to Britain’s healthcare system.
In the clip, the Princess of Wales, 41, wore the blue and white colors of the NHS logo as she helped set up a tea party for the organization’s anniversary with Prince William, 41, later surprising guests at the event.
The white and bright blue shades of the royal’s dress have been synonymous with Britain’s health service over the years, and she kept the theme going by decorating cupcakes and a birthday cake with the colors of the NHS in the clip.
Middleton debuted her puffed-sleeve, pleated front dress during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, later wearing the 1980s-style frock to a Wimbledon match the following month.
For the NHS tea party she accessorized with an old favorite pair of faux pearl and crystal drop earrings from Heavenly Necklaces ($120) along with her frequently worn white Jimmy Choo pumps.
Prince William — who serves as patron of NHS Charities Together alongside his wife — also sported a blue-and-white look for the party, wearing a navy blazer with a white button-down shirt and adding a light blue NHS heart pin on his lapel.
Middleton certainly has a penchant for polka dots — and sartorial tributes — when it comes to her wardrobe.
She frequently includes meaningful nods in her outfits like the colors of a country’s flag or the shade of a charity, like when she sported green for Mental Health Awareness Week.
The Princess of Wales is also a huge fan of Alessandra Rich’s ’80s-inspired designs, wearing several of the label’s dotted dresses to events like Royal Ascot and last year’s Wimbledon championships.
