Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager revealed an array of bizarre items when they went through each other’s bags as part of a viral “what’s in my bag?” trend.
Piggy-backing off Jennifer Garner’s TikTok video where she took fans inside her bag and exposed herself for carrying multiple bags of snacks, the “Today with Hoda and Jenna” co-hosts decided to give it a try as well on Tuesday’s episode.
Bush Hager was tasked with going through Kotb’s, who was still using a black diaper bag from when her daughters — Haley, 6, and Hope, 4 — were babies.
“Wow, woah! Somebody likes seaweed, seaweed, seaweed!” Bush Hager exclaimed while pulling out three packs of roasted seaweed snacks.
Kotb defended herself and explained that seaweed is her “daughter’s snack of choice” as Bush Hager then uncovered her co-host’s makeup products and dry face wipes inside a plastic bag.
“OK, wow, a really organized makeup bag,” Bush Hager, 42, said teasingly.
As for Kotb, when she went through Bush Hager’s brown leather tote bag, she uncovered her co-host’s hair extensions with a phone charger caught in one of them.
“Oh jeez, gross,” the 59-year-old journalist immediately said, while Bush Hager put her hands over her face in apparent embarrassment.
“I’ll take your dried wipes, and I’ll up you one hair extension with a chord to plug in your phone.”
But things only went downhill from there as Kotb then discovered an unused — yet open — tampon wrapper inside Bush Hager’s bag.
“Whatcha got in here? OK, OK, I got an old, oh … ” Kotb hesitated, which prompted Bush Hager to exclaim, “It’s OK, women have periods!”
The two then bickered over whether Bush Hager needed to “replace” the unused tampon since it was “practically” open.
Other items included a turmeric ginger juice shot, scrunchies, Bio-Oil and toys for their kids.
The “Today” show co-hosts have never been shy about sharing details from their personal lives. Bush Hager will frequently talk about her husband, Henry, and their three kids, and Kotb will discuss all things from her divorce from Burzis Kanga to her two adopted daughters.
As for what prompted Kotb and Bush Hager to look through each other’s bags, Garner went viral on Sunday when she showcased what was inside her bag via TikTok.
After pulling out a notebook, a bag of pens, sunglasses and two books, the actress found a whopping eight bags of nuts and multiple of candy inside her bag.
Many fans found the video hilarious but one thing is for sure, Jennifer Garner will never be hungry when running errands.
