Hoda Kotb raved about getting to spend Father’s Day with her ex-fiancé, Joel Schiffman, and their two daughters.
“It was really fun! We had a great day. Joel came over and hung out with the girls,” Kotb told co-host Jenna Bush Hager on Monday’s episode of “Today with Hoda and Jenna.”
Kotb explained that their adopted daughters –– Haley, 7, and Hope, 4 –– arranged the entire day and gave Schiffman “clues” about activities they were doing for the day.

“First clue was watch TV, OK, so that was that part, and then from there, they had different things where they went fishing, and we went for pizza, and we did this whole [thing], so it took up the day,” she shared.
The “Today” show co-anchor, 59, said they ended the day by doing “freeplay” and spending the “rest of the afternoon” outdoors.
“It was great. You know what, it’s like they love to like make something, make a card and all that, so when he came, it was really cool,” she gushed.
Kotb also posted a sweet picture of Schiffman sitting on the couch with his arms wrapped around Haley and Hope.
“Happy father’s day to the best dad!” she captioned the photo on Sunday.
Several fans took to the comment section to praise Kotb and Schiffman for “maintain[ing] a positive relationship for the love of your daughters,” despite no longer being romantically involved.
Kotb and Schiffman were together for eight years and engaged for two of those years, but Kotb announced they had broken up in January 2022.
“It’s not like something happened,” Kotb said on an episode of “Today with Hoda and Jenna” at the time. “They say sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason, for a season or for a lifetime, and I feel like ours was meant to be there for a season.”
The “Hope Is a Rainbow” author has since moved on and went on her first date in two years with a mystery man who Bush Hager set her up with.
Kotb has kept tight-lipped ever since she shared they were planning a third date in March and has yet to reveal the identity of the mystery man.
