This is one way to upstage the bride.
Influencer Remi Bader suffered a wardrobe malfunction ahead of her sister’s bridal shower over the weekend, sharing a TikTok showing how she cut her revealing dress to make it into a bra top and skirt after the fabric fell apart.
“This is when I truly feel like there’s like, a God out to get me or something,” the social media star said in her first TikTok documenting the event, sharing how her “dress broke.”
“Literally this whole thing snapped,” Bader said, walking closer to the camera to show how the fabric of her colorful Michael Castello x Revolve maxi ($288) with ab cutouts was barely attached to the gold bar at its bustline.
Saying she “can’t go” to the party, the influencer — who became famous for making “realistic” clothing hauls — asked, “Should I just cut this?” as she feared the fabric would completely detach.
“That’s so inappropriate for a bridal shower!” Bader said after she snipped the fabric and made the dress into a two-piece look. “My skin’s out…”
Despite her concerns, the Victoria’s Secret size consultant headed off to the party, sharing another TikTok of herself posing with her bride-to-be sister, who wore a lacy white crop top and skirt.
She then went on to post yet another video of herself swimming in a pool in the tropical-print set as “Part of Your World” from “The Little Mermaid” plays.
Fans weren’t exactly into the look, with many calling it “inappropriate” before she even cut the dress.
“it looked like a bathing suit cover up from the beginning,” one wrote, while another TikTok user added, “I’m old… cause I thought it was inappropriate before it broke.”
“Remi never shows up on my feed, but unfortunately this whiny, bizarre video did…” a Reddit user posted in the NYC Influencers Snark community, adding, “personally I think the dress was already too inappropriate for a bridal shower prior to the 3 threads breaking off.”
“Is this not a bathing suit and cover up?” another Reddit member wrote.
Haters aside, Bader told Pvnew Style in March that she’s not going to change her body-baring style.
“I’ve always been more into the form-fitting, sexy, showing-some-skin [looks], and no matter what size I am, I’ve definitely kept that style going,” she said.
