Drake Bell found out about his divorce along with the rest of the world.
The troubled former Nickelodeon star revealed he learned about his estranged wife, Janet Von Schmeling’s legal filing when the news broke online Thursday.
“I found out my wife filed for divorce from TMZ,” he tweeted Friday.
Bell concluded his post by promoting his new song, “Going Away,” and asking his followers to “check [it] out” alongside a YouTube link.
In the track, the “Drake & Josh” alum 36, sings about “start[ing] a new life” with Von Schmeling, 28, and their 2-year-old son.
“I’m moving my wife and son out to the island,” he croons during the chorus. “Start a new life where the weather is nice all day.”
The music video, also out Friday, takes place on an airplane and features many references to Hollywood.
Bell sings that he is “done with [the] f–king city” and “done f–king sitting pretty,” referring to himself as a “prey” desperate to “escape” from a “predator.”
Pvnew exclusively reported in January that the singer and Von Schmeling had separated, with the actress subsequently moving to Florida with their toddler.
The former couple’s split came on the heels of photographs circulating of Bell inhaling balloons with his child in the back seat of his car.
While the estranged couple remained out of the spotlight for a few months, Bell made headlines on April 13 when he was reported missing and “endangered” in Florida, one day after taking his son to Sea World.
The “Amanda Show” alum was found safe hours later and tweeted, “You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night and this?”
However, in a 911 call obtained by Pvnew the following day, a police officer claimed Bell had threatened suicide in texts to family members before going missing.
Bell and Von Schmeling have yet to comment on his disappearance.
The duo secretly tied the knot in 2018, simultaneously revealing their marital status and their son’s arrival three years later.
When Schmeling filed for divorce Thursday, she cited “irreconcilable differences.”
