Melissa Etheridge is still “healing” from the tragic loss of her beloved son Beckett, who died in 2020 from opioid addiction.

The “I’m the only One” singer is currently performing in “My Window” on Broadway, a one-woman show that features renditions of her biggest hits, as well as tales from her life including her son’s struggles and untimely death.

Etheridge, 62, told Pvnew she finds it soothing to talk about it on stage.

“It’s healing every day,” she shared in an exclusive interview on the show’s opening night. “Every night I do this, I heal a little bit more because I’m talking about how my son would want me happy and I can believe that every night.”

In May 2020, the Grammy winner announced on social media that Beckett died from opioid addiction at age 21.

“Today I joined the hundreds of thousands of families who have lost loved ones to opioid addiction,” she wrote in part via social media at the time.

“He will be missed by those who loved him, his family and friends. My heart is broken. I am grateful for those who have reached out with condolences and I Feel their love and sincere grief.”

Etheridge concluded her message by promising fans that she would “sing again” soon.

“It has always healed me,” she explained.

The singer shared Beckett with ex-wife Julie Cypher along with daughter Bailey, 26. Their biological father was music legend David Crosby. Etheridge is also mom to twin boys, Johnnie Rose and Miller Steven, 16, with ex Tammy Michaels and has been married to “Nurse Jackie” co-creator Linda Wallem since 2014.

Earlier this year, Etheridge mourned the passing of Crosby, who died at age 81.

“I am grieving the loss of my friend Beckett and Bailey’s biological father, David,” she captioned an image on Instagram, of her sitting next to Crosby as he played the guitar.

During her interview with Pvnew, the “Come to My Window” songstress also told us she refuses to feel any guilt or shame over Beckett’s death. She shared some wise words of advice for other parents who have lost children due to addiction.

“I would say that guilt and shame are nothing to hold on to,” she explained. “They have no place in your life, your happiness matters, your health matters. So let that go and continue living your life.”

Celebs who came out to support Etheridge at the show included Ariana DeBose, Gina Gershon, Tamron Hall and Sophia Bush.
