Taylor Ann Green claims she and Austen Kroll were “pushed” to hook up with one another due to their mutual “brokenness” following their respective breakups.
In a clip from the upcoming “Southern Charm” episode obtained by People, Green joined Olivia Flowers at a restaurant to talk about the messy situation
Flowers, who dated Kroll for roughly eight months, started the conversation by telling Green that some of their male co-stars had been questioning the pair’s relationship at a recent “guys’ night.”
According to Flowers, Shep Rose — who split from Green in August 2022 after two years of dating — seemed “a little shook” about the whole thing.
“Nothing is going on, and I will put my hand on a Bible,” Green, 28, shot back. “There is nothing going on.”
Yet Flowers, 31, continued to press her friend, noting that Kroll, 36, acted “tongue-tied” when pressed about the situation.
“So what exactly is it that Austen is so tongue-tied about?” Flowers asked point blank.
After gathering her thoughts for a minute, Green admitted that she was the one that considered pursuing Kroll.
“After New York, when we were both not in good places with each of our [exes] — he was not in a good place with you, I was not in a good place with Shep — but we created such a bond in the midst of that vulnerability and that just absolute brokenness and the two of us being pushed together because of our situations,” Green explained.
“I was like, ‘I mean, Austen, is this something we explore?'” she continued. “I was the one who said it. I was like, ‘Is this something we’re meant to explore?'”
“You and him being together?” Flowers clarified, to which Green replied, “correct.”
Pvnew broke the news in March that Green and Kroll had hooked up “at the start” of the new season.
At the time, multiple sources told us that the pair tried to tell their friends that “they only made out.” However, as the season progressed the hookup was “revealed to be more than that.”
“[Season 9] is gonna be about her,” one insider told us, adding that Green was “screaming and crying and yelling in front of all the guests” at one of the cast parties.
Although a source told us that Rose — who has been best friends with Kroll for years — was “fine” with the whole thing, the 43-year-old sang a different tune during last week’s episode.
While chatting with pal Craig Conover, Rose admitted that he thought the situation was “f—d up.”
“I would not be surprised if they both looked at each other like, ‘Let’s just go for it and no one will ever know,’” he said.
Yet it turns out that Kroll also previously thought hooking up with his best friend’s ex wasn’t the best idea.
In a resurfaced interview from October 2022, Kroll admitted that dating the blond beauty would go against “bro code.”
When asked by Us Weekly about a potential romance with Green, Kroll said it would “really … cross a lot of lines” and “affect … a bunch of friendships.”
However, he added, “I love Taylor to pieces, and I cherish her friendship, and we’ve gotten very close.”
“Southern Charm” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
