Craig Conover revealed that he once spent Easter with Sofía Vergara because his “Southern Charm” co-star Whitney Sudler-Smith is related to her ex-fiancé, Nick Loeb.
The 34-year-old shared the surprising — and random — news while discussing the “Modern Family” alum’s divorce from Joe Manganiello.
“The Sofía Vergara thing, which I don’t understand — I just remember when she used to date Whitney’s cousin and we all had Easter at Whitney’s house,” Conover told Austen Kroll, 36, on a recent episode of their “Pillows and Beer” podcast.
Although he did not disclose the name of “Whitney’s cousin,” Conover was referring to Loeb, Vergara’s ex-fiancé who proposed to the “Soul Plane” actress in 2012.
After the pair called it quits in 2014, the businessman, 47, and Vergara were involved in a years-long legal battle in multiple states over two frozen embryos from the couple’s 2013 IVF treatments.
Loeb sought custody to bring them to term and even gave them names in court papers.
Vergara, 51, ultimately won custody of the exes’ frozen embryos, which barred Loeb from using them to create a child.
While speaking more on Vergara’s divorce to Manganiello, Kroll added that he was “saddened a bit” by the estranged couple’s decision to divorce because he recalled always seeing the actress publicly say how lucky she was to have the “Spider-man” star, 46, as a husband.
“They just seemed super cute, like, super good, and then you fast forward and they’re getting [divorced]. And I’m like, ‘Is anybody safe? Is anybody safe out there?’” the “Winter House” star said.
“I just thought they were just the cutest and, like, smitten kitten, and that’s how it was gonna go. And now they’re getting divorced? It’s like, damn.”
Vergara and Manganiello wed in November 2015 after dating for about a year and a half.
Fans first gained their suspicions about marital woes between the couple when the “True Blood” alum posted a cold birthday message for the actress’ 51st birthday on July 10.
Pvnew exclusively revealed the news of the pair’s divorce on July 17.
The couple told Pvnew in a statement: “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Sources later revealed that the “Magic Mike” star’s sobriety — along with his desire to have kids — ultimately led to the split.
