“Summer House” stars Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke have called off their engagement.
Radke and Hubbard met in 2016 while filming Season 1 of the hit Bravo TV show. They had a brief romance during Season 4 of the show, but they ended up deciding to keep their relationship platonic.
After years of being best friends, Hubbard confirmed to Pvnew in January 2022 that she was dating her co-star again. Radke popped the question that August with a 3.5-carat diamond ring.
However, Pvnew confirmed on Aug. 31, 2023, that the pair had split after their year-long engagement.
“The two were set to get married in November, but Carl told Lindsay he couldn’t move forward with the wedding,” a source told “Entertainment Tonight.”
“The breakup was filmed and will most likely play out on the next season of ‘Summer House.'”
Here’s a look back at the former couple’s ups and downs throughout their relationship.
A Reality TV Meet Cute
Hubbard and Radke met prior to filming Season 1 of “Summer House” in 2016.
The two quickly became friends, but they didn’t entertain a romantic relationship, since she was dating former co-star Everett Weston at the time.
They remained close friends for three years, even naming themselves — along with co-star Danielle Olivera — the “Three Amigos.”
Relationship Take One
The reality TV personalities dated for a first time during Season 4 of “Summer House” in 2019.
“We just kept getting closer and closer and then we both wound up single at the same time, which I don’t think has ever really happened,” Hubbard told People in February 2020.
“But our friendship chemistry is just like so apparent that I think a lot of people were sort of waiting for something to happen.”
Their brief romance was filmed for the show, though the duo didn’t make it past their “worst first date ever,” which ended in a screaming fight on their shared apartment building’s rooftop.
Despite that rocky ending, Hubbard defended Radke when the season aired in March 2020.
“Unfortunately going into it, Carl didn’t exactly understand that I’m not dating just to date at this point in my life (even if he is my best friend), or that he wasn’t quite ready for the level of commitment I need in a relationship,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
“Our expectations were not aligned, which is where it all went wrong.”
Are They or Aren’t They?
Two years after their failed attempt at exiting the friend zone, Hubbard and Radke sparked romance rumors again when they were spotted looking cozy together at Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s wedding in September 2021.
At the time, Hubbard and Radke insisted to Pvnew that they were just “forever best friends.”
“We both were seeing other people this summer, and you guys will see how our friendship has developed,” she told us that October.
Radke added that they were “both single,” but his friendship with Hubbard was “incredibly strong.”
They fueled the romance rumors even more when they dressed up as “Dirty Dancing” characters Frances “Baby” Houseman and Johnny Castle for Halloween that year.
Take Two!
In January 2022, Hubbard confirmed to Pvnew that they were giving their romantic relationship a second chance.
“We don’t really talk in labels, Carl and I … [but] we’re very much together. We’re very happy,” she told us at the time.
Radke also addressed their relationship while getting choked up on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that same month.
“It’s worked out really well,” Radke said at the time. “Listen, we’re in a new space, I’m in a great place. … We have an amazing friendship that has grown so much over these years.”
He explained that becoming sober in early 2021 was a major factor in making his romance with Hubbard work.
“My priorities are different, and I’ve just really enjoyed where we are right now. We’re having a lot of fun,” he said, admitting he was “a little nervous.”
Relationship Firsts
Over the next seven months, Hubbard and Radke embarked on several relationship milestones together.
In January 2022, Hubbard shared a sweet birthday tribute to her boo, and a month later, they celebrated their first Valentine’s Day together in Mexico.
The two met each other’s families prior to dating, but later that spring, Radke took Hubbard to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Penn., while Hubbard showed him around Clearwater, Fla., that Easter.
From Neighbors to Roommates
Before they began dating, Hubbard and Radke lived in the same New York City apartment building.
They decided to vacate their respective apartments and move in together at a new place in the Kips Bay area in May 2022.
“We’re very serious, in love and very happy. We’re moving in together, finally. We’ve been trying to do that for little bit,” Radke told Us Weekly at the time.
“We have a really solid, fun relationship, and I’m excited for everybody else to kind of see what we’re like full-time. … But I think her and I are confident with how we’re doing things,” he added.
Popping the Question
Radke got down on one knee and proposed to Hubbard at Southhampton’s Dune Beach on Aug. 27, 2022.
“I was so surprised, I’m still in shock!” Hubbard told People at the time, while Radke admitted, “It was quite the whirlwind throwing off Lindsay. She’s a tough one to catch off guard!”
Afterward, he surprised his then-fiancée with an engagement party at Dockers Waterside Marina & Restaurant — one of their favorite spots in the Hamptons.
Radke also flew in Hubbard’s dad and stepmother from Florida to celebrate their love, along with the rest of the “Summer House” crew.
Hubbard’s dazzling ring — designed by jeweler Nicole Rose — featured a 3.5-carat square brilliant cut cushion with two half-moon diamonds on the sides.
Bravo cameras were rolling during the romantic beach proposal, which played out during Season 7 of the show in early 2023.
However, not all of the co-stars were supportive of the engagement. Paige DeSorbo later slammed their relationship as “pretty fake.”
Planning for the Big Day
The now-exes got candid about wedding planning while appearing at Pvnew’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast live show in February 2023.
“I’m going to be honest with you guys, wedding planning f—ing sucks!” Hubbard said at the time, adding that they had “a lot of different criteria” to consider.
However, the couple eventually found their dream venue, with Radke later confirming they were having a fall destination wedding.
“I’m happy to report, we’re locked in with a venue. It’s going to be Mexico,” he told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” in March 2023.
They two were set to tie the knot on Nov. 17, 2023, per their wedding website.
Here Comes the Bridal Shower
Hubbard celebrated her nuptials with a garden-themed bridal shower on Aug. 12, 2023, at Cathédrale at Moxy East Village in New York City.
Several of her co-stars joined the festivities, and Radke even popped by to surprise her with flowers and a sweet kiss.
At the time, Hubbard told People that planning for her bachelorette party was already underway. She spilled that it was set to take place in the Bahamas in September 2023.
The End of Summer
Pvnew confirmed on Aug. 31, 2023, had split while filming Season 8 of “Summer House.”
The pair has yet to address their breakup.
