Prince Harry reveals fears of bringing wife Meghan Markle back to the UK: ‘It’s still dangerous’

Prince Harry believes it’s “still dangerous” to take his wife, Meghan Markle, back to the UK after the couple resigned from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the US.

The Duke of Sussex appeared in ITV’s documentary “Tabloids on Trial,” where he shared concerns for his family’s safety.

“They pushed me too far,” he said of the press attention surrounding the couple, which has prompted the royal to file lawsuits against several media outlets.

“It got to a point where you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t. But I don’t think there’s anybody in the world better suited and placed to be able to see this through than myself,” he said.

“It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read. And whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, and these are things that are of genuine concern for me. It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.”

The Duke, 39, added, “There is more than enough attention on me and my wife anyway.”

In 2022, it was revealed that Harry said he “does not feel safe” traveling in the UK without the help of security after he petitioned the UK government to provide additional protections when he and his family traveled to his homeland.

He and Markle, 42, were stripped of their security detail when they resigned as senior members of the royal family.

“This claim is about the fact that the claimant does not feel safe when he is in the UK given the security arrangements that were applied to him in June 2021 and will continue to be applied to him if he returns,” Barrister Shaheed Fatima QC said, per the Guardian.

“And, of course, it should go without saying that he wants to come back: to see family and friends and to continue to support the charities that are so close to his heart. Most of all, this is, and always will be, his home.”

Harry’s attorneys claimed he and his family needed more protection they had “been subjected to well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats,” according to a statement.

In February, London’s High Court ruled that Prince Harry and his immediate family would not be able to use tax-funded police protection when they visit the UK.

It has been reported that the couple is seeking to appeal the high court’s ruling.
