Gypsy Rose Blanchard is starting a new chapter.
The Munchausen by proxy survivor and mom-to-be has made plenty of headlines over the years, and on Thursday, Blanchard shared an Instagram Reel showing off her meaningful tattoos as she moves on from her tumultuous past.
The 32-year-old — who announced she was expecting her first child with ex-fiancé Ken Urker in early July— posted a video set to “Tattoo” by Jordin Sparks as she gave fans a close-up look at each design, starting with her intricate new back tattoo inspired by a phoenix in flight.

The mythical bird represents resurrection and rebirth — a fitting choice for Blanchard, who was released from prison last year after convincing her former boyfriend to murder her mother.
She then showed a black unalome symbol on her inner arm; the traditional Buddhist and Hindu design represents the path to enlightenment, complete with the errors and lessons learned along the way.
Lastly, Blanchard gave her followers another look at the matching husky tattoos she got with Urker just days after splitting from her ex-husband, Ryan Anderson, in April.
The dogs face one another other to form an abstract heart, and the “My Time to Stand” author included a sketch of two nuzzling wolves to explain her inspiration.
“Tattoo meanings. Thank you to @sailorbobstattoo @1936greaser @electricsting for the amazing artistry. ❤️ ⚠️DISCLOSURE All tattoos were done BEFORE pregnancy,” she captioned the Reel.
These aren’t the first body modifications Blanchard’s made in recent months; she got a nose job this spring and has been experimenting with her hair, trying out both blond and brunette shades.
Perhaps she’ll get a new tattoo to commemorate Baby Blanchard later this year.
