Vikander called the nine months a “physically demanding … marathon.”
She added, “Training made it easier. It does help if you’re strong going into it. … I have so much admiration for any woman who has done it.”
The “Ex Machina” star became a mom in 2021 when she and Fassbender, 46, welcomed a baby boy.
Before the infant’s arrival, Vikander suffered an “extreme, painful” miscarriage.
She revealed the pregnancy loss in a July 2022 interview with The Times, explaining that “it took time” for her and the actor to conceive.
“I tried to get pregnant for a while,” Vikander recalled at the time. “So I had tough times during lockdown [amid the coronavirus pandemic]. I struggled for a while. … For a while I didn’t think that I could get pregnant.”
Since “so many women go through similar things,” the Golden Globe nominee decided to go public with her struggles.
She and Fassbender have kept their relationship private since meeting on the set of “The Light Between Two Oceans” in 2014.
The duo tied the knot in October 2017 in Spain, going on to honeymoon in Italy.
“I feel I’m more happy and content than I’ve ever been,” the bride gushed to Vogue in February of the following year before praising her “sweet” husband’s acting skills.
When they worked together, “he was so open to wanting [her] to chip in new ideas and thoughts,” she explained.
