This her now … and always.
Jennifer Lopez sat down with Today’s Hoda Kotb for a fun game on Thursday as she promoted her new album, “This is Me … Now,” which will be released Friday, and during the segment, the pop star revealed that her children aren’t exactly fans of one of her favorite looks.
The “Can’t Get Enough” singer, 54, sported a chic tartan beret and a long black coat as she chatted with the morning show host, 59, for a game of “This is me … now … or then?”
Each woman was asked to hold up a paddle saying “now” or “then” after statements like “needs the last word in an argument.”

Jennifer Lopez gets raunchy about being intimate with Ben Affleck in new song ‘Greatest Love Story Never Told’
Jennifer Lopez’s new album, ‘This Is Me…Now,’ is as watery as Ben Affleck’s Dunkin’ iced coffee: review
When Kotb said “wearing a crop top,” J.Lo held up her paddle reading “then” before switching it to the other side while saying “now … and forever!”
“My kids are like, ‘mom! the crop top!’ and I’m like, ‘yeah!'” the “Waiting for Tonight” singer exclaimed.
“They’re not digging it?” Kotb said with a laugh, with Lopez replying, “No. They don’t dig it.”
Apparently husband Ben Affleck feels the same way, as J. Lo previously revealed that the “Argo” actor will make fun of her skimpy clothing.
“He’ll joke with me sometimes … he’ll say things like, ‘Where’s the rest of the shirt?’ or things like that,” Lopez told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos in a May 2023 tv appearance.
Although they aren’t fans of her crop tops, her twin children Emme and Max, 15, are huge fans of their mom’s music and movies.
“I think they loved it,” she said of her kids attending the premiere of “This is Me … Now: A Love Story,” adding “one of them was crying. It was beautiful.”
As for her tummy-baring ‘fits, Lopez has certainly rocked many a crop top over the years, ranging from a sweet gingham skirt set in Italy to a comfy sweatpants look.
She even wears crop tops on the red carpet, like the 2021 premiere of Affleck’s “The Last Duel,” when she wore a glittering brown Hervé Léger top and skirt set.
The “Marry Me” actress couldn’t help bringing up the ab-baring apparel up again in her interview, bringing the conversation full circle with her last question.
After being asked if staying out past midnight was a then or now moment, Lopez said she loves “working late” or “dancing on tables … and wearing crop tops.”
