Jon Voight may be reconciled with his once-estranged daughter, Angelina Jolie, but they still don’t see eye to eye about many things — particularly politics.
During an interview with PvNew published on Tuesday, the “Midnight Cowboy” actor, 85, criticized Jolie’s ongoing support for the Palestinians, claiming she has fallen victim to antisemitic rhetoric.
“She has been exposed to propaganda,” he told the outlet. “She’s been influenced by antisemitic people.”
Voight, who has long been an outspoken supporter of Israel, admitted that his philanthropist daughter’s former role as a special envoy to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has also played a role.

“Angie has a connection to the U.N., and she’s enjoyed speaking out for refugees,” he added. “But these people are not refugees.”
Despite her work with the international organization, Voight suggested the “Girl, Interrupted” actress is ill-informed because people in Hollywood “have no idea what’s going on.”
“They’re way off,” said Voight, known for his right-wing political opinions. “It’s a bubble.”
When the reporter pointed out that Voight himself lives in Beverly Hills and works in Hollywood, the actor blamed the United Nations as a whole.
“I love my daughter. I don’t want to fight with my daughter,” he said heatedly. “But the fact is, I think she has been influenced by the U.N. From the beginning, it’s been awful with human rights. They call it human rights, but it’s just anti-Israel bashing.”
“She’s ignorant of what the real stakes are and what the real story is because she’s in the loop of the United Nations,” he doubled down.
According to the outlet, Voight criticized Jolie’s “ignorance” numerous times during their interview, “like a candidate going after an opponent in a 30-second ad.”
A source close to the “Maleficent” star, 49, told PvNew that she wishes her father “well” but “does not speak about him publicly.”
This isn’t the first time that Voight has publicly taken aim at his daughter’s political beliefs.
In November 2023, the “Deliverance” actor blasted Jolie after she voiced her support for the Palestinians and accused Israel of “deliberately bombing” Gaza, which she described as an “open-air prison” with “nowhere to flee.”
“I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God’s honor, God’s truths,” he began an Instagram video.
Voight called for the Israeli army to “protect thy soil” and “thy people,” suggesting that any room for civility was squashed after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks.
“This is war,” he said. “It’s not going to be what the left thinks; it can’t be civil now.”
Jolie never responded to her father’s lengthy video and has continued to show her support for the Palestinian people.
Despite the father-daughter duo’s drastically different political beliefs, they’ve been working on their relationship for the last 15 years.
Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, divorced the legendary actor, citing adultery, when she was just a toddler.
Due to their split, Jolie’s relationship with her father was tumultuous from a young age — and it only got worse as she got older.
However, things changed in 2007 when her mother died from ovarian and breast cancer at the age of 56.
“I love my daughter — that’s No. 1. I am happy when Angie is happy,” Voight insisted to PvNew with tears in his eyes.
“When she’s having a tough time, I’m having a tough time. When she is down, I’m down.”
