Shanna Moakler admitted to taking the weight-loss drug Mounjaro after she decided to “eat the pain away” when her parents died last year.
During an interview with People published Monday, the “Meet the Barkers” alum got candid about losing her mom, Gail, in January 2023 and then her dad, John, seven months later.
“I was in a very, very dark place. I stopped dieting. I stopped exercising. I just ate like s–t,” she said. “I was so devastated, and I missed my f–king mom and dad. I was like, ‘I’m going to f–king eat the pain away.'”

Moakler, 49, recalled her eating habits getting worse when the paparazzi began asking her about Travis Barker’s wife, Kourtney Kardashian, being rushed to the hospital as she experienced complications while carrying their son, Rocky.
“It was on another level, and I didn’t know how to deal [with it],” she continued. “I was sad. And I just missed my parents so much.”
The TV personality, who was married to the Blink-182 drummer from 2004 to 2008, explained she started to feel like her old self again when she started using Mounjaro earlier this year, though she didn’t reveal how much weight she’s lost.
“I don’t think anyone has a clue about who I am,” Moakler told the outlet.
“I’m more than just the ex-wife of famous men. I was Miss USA at 19. I’m smart. Every part I’ve ever got in any movie, or every show I hosted or auditioned for, I worked my f–king ass off to get,” she added, also referring to her ex-fiancé, Oscar De La Hoya, whom she dated from 1997 to 2000.
The mom of three shares 25-year-old daughter Atiana with the professional boxer, 51. She also welcomed 18-year-old daughter, Alabama, and 20-year-old son, Landon, with Barker, 48.
Moakler, who has been an open critic about the musician’s new family, also took a jab at the Kardashian-Jenner clan, saying, “I also don’t have to like the f–king Kardashians, and I’m honestly sick of talking about them.
“As I stand here today, as a mature woman who’s gone through all that … I do not give a f–k what anyone thinks of me anymore. I’m proud of who I am.”
Despite being weary of the Kardashians, the former Playboy model continues to discuss them on her “Dumb Blonde” podcast as she alleged Barker and his new wife’s sister Kim Kardashian had plans to “f–k” while they were still together.
The rocker — who tied the knot to Kourtney in 2022 — has denied the rumors on several occasions.
In May, Moakler also slammed Barker as a “narcissist” while explaining she couldn’t compete with being a better parent than him.
“I think it really comes from like when you’re dealing with like a narcissist or you’re dealing with a controlling personality,” she said on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” adding her ex is a “very powerful famous person.”
“But I gave up, I was never really trying to compete. I gave that up a long time ago,” the podcaster continued. “I was like, ‘You win. Like you’re the winner.’”
