Even the biggest style stars aren’t immune to fashion emergencies.
Dakota Johnson proved this was the case during her Wednesday night appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” with the actress, 34, experiencing a mishap while promoting her forthcoming movie, “Daddio.”
Mid-interview the floral-embellished, golden straps on her Bottega Veneta dress suddenly broke.
“Dakota, your dress just came unhooked,” Kimmel could be heard telling Johnson, shortly after showing a clip from the upcoming film, which hits theaters on June 28.

“Are you alright? Should I get some Scotch tape?” he asked.
“My dress just…it just fell off,” Johnson announced, holding up the long black design and attempting to fix the metal, cuff-like straps, which had been hooked over her shoulder moments before.
“I’ll just hold it,” the “Madame Web” star concluded as she attempted to talk about her newest project, which also stars Sean Penn, 63, and takes place inside a taxi for the entirety of the film.
At one point, Johnson decided to clutch her chest as the solution, laughing in disbelief and sarcastically telling the host, “The movie is really good.”
Prior to nearly flashing the audience, Johnson, who is the daughter of actor Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, arrived at the late-night show wearing an oversized white suit with coordinating white pumps.
She rocked the same pair of heels as she left, this time opting for a comfier, casual ensemble that consisted of a cardigan, white T-shirt, and a baggy pair of jeans. Both her arrival and departure outfits also included a pair of cat-eye Bottega Veneta sunglasses and gold Monica Vinader x Kate Young large hoop earrings ($395).
Thankfully, Johnson continues to handle wardrobe malfunctions like a pro.
In 2022, she nearly flashed the audience during an appearance on “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” when she attempted to sit cross-legged on a couch while wearing a mini dress.
A few years prior, in 2016, the star’s strap also broke during the People’s Choice Awards, which prompted her to have the perfect response, referencing her movie “50 Shades of Grey.”
“It’s not like nobody here hasn’t already seen my boobs,” she quipped as she accepted the award.
