The majority of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ former ABC News colleagues gave them the cold shoulder after their love affair was exposed nearly two years ago and they were fired shortly after.
“once it was clear that we weren’t coming back, I never heard from most people again,” Robach, 51, claimed on the latest episode of the “Amy and T.J. Podcast” Wednesday.
Holmes, 46, said he understood his former co-workers’ hesitation “to a certain degree,” adding, “Everybody’s trying to hold on to their job.
“They don’t want to be seen as being an ally of two people that ABC News doesn’t like.”

In November 2022, photos of the ABC journalists getting cozy on various outings throughout upstate New York and Manhattan were released online, revealing for the first time that the pair was dating.
Since Robach and Holmes were still legally married to their respective partners — Marilee Fiebig and Andrew Shue — at the time, it was rumored that the co-workers-turned-lovers had an affair.
However, the “GMA3” co-anchors denied ever cheating on their exes, and Robach still claimed on her podcast Wednesday that the leaked pictures just showed her and Holmes in a “private relationship.”
The former “20/20” co-anchor said when she and her boyfriend returned to ABC News two days after the photos were made public, they were actually “surrounded by support” at first.
“My dressing room was full of all of our colleagues,” Robach said, prompting Holmes to add, “Some of it fake. Some of it fake. Absolutely, some of it was BS.”
The former news anchors used to work at “Good Morning America” with Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Lara Spencer, Ginger Zee, Jennifer Ashton and Michael Strahan.
It’s unclear which former colleagues were the ones to ice out the couple after the president of ABC deemed their scandalous romance a “distraction” for others on the network.
However, Strahan, at least, was confirmed to be one of the few industry friends the podcasters still have.
Holmes said they actually went out to lunch with the former NFL star, 52, just last week but tried to keep their social outing on the down low to protect him.
“You wouldn’t believe the effort we put into it,” Holmes said, sharing that they tried to arrange different arrival times at their meetup spot to avoid being seen with Strahan.
However, the former “Live! With Kelly and Michael” host reportedly told his pals, “You idiots, just stop.”
“This is a guy that we’ve been very close to for 10 years now and even we didn’t want to get whatever our stank is on him for some reason,” Holmes said. “We struggle to get out of that mindset but friends like that do help.”
Robach added, “I used to say, ‘It’s not like I murdered someone,’ but I definitely felt like that’s how it seemed if you read comments anywhere from all of these articles.
“It weighs you down to the point where you think, ‘I’m the worst person in the world,’ and you do feel like you’ve committed a crime. It’s bizarre.”
The mother of two said it feels “strange” to be “hated” just for “loving someone,” and said it felt especially “frustrating” because the cheating narrative was just simply not true.
Despite feeling like outcasts at times, Robach and Holmes both agreed they have “zero desire” to return to network news and shared they both feel they should have probably “given up that gig a long time ago.”
“We know how the sausage is made and it got more and more frustrating to me the more I got to a higher level,” Robach said, adding that she often felt “frustration with the industry.”
She concluded, “It is a business, so I wanted to be a journalist and sometimes those two don’t work well together.”
While Robach and Holmes appear to have moved on, for the most part, their exes have done so as well.
Earlier this week, Fiebig, 46, and Shue, 57 — who are now dating each other — were seen getting handsy in New York City, confirming they are also still going strong.
