It’s Angelina Jolie’s party and she’ll celebrate privately if she wants to.
The “Eternals” star, who turned 49 years old on Tuesday, is reportedly having a “quiet” birthday with her children, Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, Pax, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15.
“Angelina will celebrate her birthday with a quiet day at home with her kids. Zahara is home from college, and she looks forward to everyone spending the day together,” a source close to the actress told People.

The private birthday celebration comes shortly after reports revealed Shiloh — whom Jolie shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt — hired her own lawyer and filed to legally change her name from “Shiloh Jolie-Pitt” to “Shiloh Jolie.”
The “Bullet Train” actor, 60, is said to be “aware and upset” about their daughter’s big decision on her 18th birthday.
“He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter,” a source close to Pitt told People earlier this week.
The insider added, “The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”
Several of Shiloh’s siblings have also distanced themselves from their father by changing their last name.
In November 2023, Zahara introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” during her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority induction at Spelman College.
Back in 2021, Us Weekly reported that Maddox also “doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie.”
Most recently, Vivienne dropped her father’s last name in the Playbill for “The Outsiders.” The teen worked as her assistant on the Broadway musical produced by Angelina.
The “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” co-stars split in 2016 after more than 10 years together.
Despite them both being legally declared single, they have yet to finalize their contentious divorce and come to agreement on ownership of their French winery, Chateau Miraval.
