Jennifer Lopez has been friends with Leah Remini since meeting the “Kings of Queens” star in 2004 — but their friendship has had its fair share of ups and downs.
After years spent gushing over each other, Remini made headlines for missing Lopez’s 2022 wedding to Ben Affleck.

However, a source told Pvnew in 2024 that Remini and Lopez had reconciled amid reports of the Grammy nominee’s looming divorce from Affleck.

2004
When Remini met Lopez at a 2004 red carpet premiere, she was “hoping [the singer] was gonna be ugly in real life,” she told “Entertainment Tonight” in 2018. “I was like, ‘She could be dumb!’ I wanted to find something , and I didn’t.”
Instead, Remini came to appreciate her pal’s sense of humor, saying she could “bust [Lopez’s] balls.”
In the same interview, J.Lo recalled their “instant chemistry,” which she credited to their “very similar upbringings.”
2008
Remini and her husband, Angelo Pagán, spoke to People about Lopez’s twins, Max and Emme, after their February 2008 arrival.
“We’re asking for an audition for godparent roles,” the “Kevin Can Wait” star joked at the time.
Her partner added, “Not sure whether it entails that we have to sing, dance, recite a monologue, but we’re ready!”
2015
After Remini publicly exited the Church of Scientology in 2013, she gushed to People about Lopez’s reaction to her departure.
“She doesn’t judge,” Remini told the magazine in 2015. “She told me to keep the good things and move on with love.”
That same year, the Emmy winner posted an Instagram video of the “Selena” star making her dinner, gushing, “There’s my girl! … Just a normal Puerto Rican girl at home cooking a meal.”
2016
When Lopez turned 47 in 2016, Remini helped her celebrate in Las Vegas.
The party took place at Cesar’s Palace after the performer finished one of her “All I Have” residency shows at Planet Hollywood.
Remini sported a cutout jumpsuit to the bash, while Lopez stunned in a plunging, sequined ensemble.
2018
Lopez and Remini did press together while promoting their movie “Second Act” in 2018.
“The relationship that we have is very special,” the “Let’s Get Loud” singer said on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
“I knew that if we could capture our real honesty, our real love, our real humor [in the film], then that would be something really entertaining and fun for everybody to see.”
While appearing on “The View” together, Remini called their friendship a “very close [one], like sisters … but in a different way.”
Lopez chimed in, “We understand each other’s lives. We have similar lives and similar careers, and we understand nuances that other people don’t understand, so that also bonded us.”
She gushed over her “courageous, caring and generous” friend’s best qualities, with Remini returning the favor by calling her “loving, warm, fiercely loyal, courageous, brave, true and authentic.”
2019
Remini clarified to the Daily Beast in 2019 that Lopez never “submit to any pressures” from her — or from J.Lo’s father — to join Scientology.
“Jennifer is a very strong-minded female and is a seeker of spirituality,” she explained. “She’s Catholic — always has been.
“Jennifer makes her own decisions,” the “Scientology and the Aftermath” star continued. “She was a really good friend to me through all that.”
2021
Remini admitted to “Today” show viewers in 2021 that she did not love answering “questions about Jennifer,” finding it “utterly annoying.”
The former “The Talk” co-host explained that the queries felt like they “were for gossip purposes.”
She noted, “Especially if I am trying to talk about something that is important, like … exposing the abuses that we’re talking about in Scientology and the victims of Scientology and somebody asks me about Jennifer’s wedding.”
2022
Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in a whirlwind Las Vegas wedding in July 2022, marrying again in front of family and friends the following month — sans Remini.
TMZ reported at the time that the “Troublemaker” author had skipped the nuptials ahead of daughter, Sofia, starting college.
However, a source told Pvnew in June 2024 that a “mad” Lopez had “cut off all ties” with Remini when her pal was not supportive of her and Affleck’s on-again romance.
The couple were initially engaged from 2002 to 2004 before reconciling in 2021, with our insider saying Remini urged Lopez to remember why she and the “selfish” actor had called it quits the first time.
The longtime friends’s last social media moment took place five months ahead of the Georgia wedding, with Remini and Lopez hanging out poolside.
“Here’s me, normal,” the “People Puzzler” host said in a March 2022 TikTok video, showing her baseball cap and bare face before panning to the “I’m Real” singer. “Look at this one! Headwrap! Jewelry! Can you be ugly once? Just be normal once! You’re such a jerk-off!”
2023
Visage first hinted that Remini and Lopez were no longer friends in a September 2023 episode of the “Las Culturistas” podcast.
Co-host Bowen Yang asked the former Seduction member whether the pair were still “best buds.”
Visage made a face before cryptically replying, “No comment.”
2024
In the wake of split speculation surrounding Lopez and Affleck in May 2024, an insider told Pvnew exclusively that Remini wanted to reconnect with her former bestie.
“They were friends for years,” the source said. “She wants to reach out to her, but she can’t just call up and say, ‘I told you so.'”
Later that same week, we reported that Remini did, in fact, reach out and lend Lopez her support.
