Brad Pitt is reportedly “aware and upset” that his and Angelina Jolie’s first biological daughter, Shiloh, dropped his last name.
“He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter,” a source told People on Monday.
“The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”

The insider noted that, though the “Fight Club” actor is “happy” with girlfriend Ines de Ramon, the division from his six kids “pains him.”
A second source told the outlet, “He still loves all of his kids tremendously. This whole process has been very hard for the whole family.”
Pvnew reached out to Pitt’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
On Shiloh’s 18th birthday May 27, she filed to legally drop “Pitt” from her name.
Though the teen’s name change has yet to be granted, her new moniker will reportedly be “Shiloh Jolie.”
People first noticed Shiloh dropped her dad’s surname in “The Outsiders” Playbill last month.
The dancer — who helped mom Jolie, 48, produce the Broadway play — was reportedly listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the magazine for theatergoers.
Shiloh isn’t the only one of the “Meet Joe Black” star’s kids to drop his last name.
Last year, Zahara left off the “Pitt” from her name during her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority induction ceremony at Spelman College in Atlanta.
During the probate, the 19-year-old referred to herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”
And in 2021, Us Weekly reported that Pitt and Jolie’s son Maddox, 22, “doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie.”
The “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” co-stars are also parents to Pax, 20, and twins Vivienne and Knox, both 15.
It’s unclear when the kids became estranged from Pitt, 60, but Pax reportedly called his estranged father a “world class a–hole” in a 2020 Father’s Day post.
“You have no consideration or empathy toward your 4 youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence,” he reportedly continued, seemingly referencing a 2016 incident when Pitt allegedly became “verbally abusive and physical with his children” aboard a private jet.
The “Maleficent” actress filed to divorce the “Troy” actor in 2016 and requested full custody of their six children.
Though the former couple was declared legally single in 2019, their divorce proceedings remain ongoing.
