Kate Beckinsale shared that she was hospitalized in a UK Mother’s Day tribute to her mom, Judy Loe.
The “Serendipity” star posted a slideshow on Instagram Monday that included photos of herself in a hospital bed, though she notably did not offer an explanation as to why she needed treatment.
“Happy birthday and UK Mother’s Day this last week to my incredible mother,” she captioned the post. “Thank you to those that love us and support us when it’s s–t and try to make sure there are some bits that aren’t.”

Beckinsale, 50, thanked Loe, 77, for being so “loving” as she celebrated her mom’s “capacity for joy.”
“It is so inspiring and beautiful .Happy everything mama . Your fight for joy despite also welcoming tears is the experience of watching a warrior up close .I love you x,” she concluded her post.
The photos showed Beckinsale wearing a blue hospital gown and a giant bow on her head as she snapped a selfie with tears in her eyes.
The slideshow also featured photos of Loe with a birthday cake as well as some content of her enjoying a glass of Champagne.

Beckinsale has been grieving the loss of her stepfather, Roy Battersby, who died of a “massive stroke” in January while battling two forms of cancer. He was 87.
The late British TV director, known for his projects like “Between the Lines” and “Red Mercury,” married Beckinsale’s mother in 1997.
Loe’s first husband and Beckinsale’s father, Richard Beckinsale, died from a heart attack in 1979.
