Brian McKnight’s son Niko McKnight slammed Tyrese for defending the fellow singer’s estranged relationship with his eldest biological children.
“Tyrese used to sleep under our pool table when I was a kid,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories Tuesday. “I know the 90s RnB brotherhood blood is thicker than anything you should sit this one out champ.”
Niko then told the “Sweet Lady” crooner that he should focus on fixing his relationship with his own daughter, Shayla, 16, whom Tyrese didn’t get to see for a period of time due to his custody battle with his ex-wife, Norma Gibson.
“The allegiance to those things is what keeps you guys from seeing that the only thing that matters in the end is family. Real men can see past the bulls–t,” Niko added.
The photographer, who is now battling cancer, ended his message by saying that his “46-hr chemo infusion” has him ready to “fade Jody,” who is the character Tyrese played in the 2001 film “Baby Boy.”
Niko also shared images viral meme images of the six-time Grammy nominee crying.
Tyrese, 45, came to Brian’s defense after radio host Rickey Smiley sent his support to his disowned children after the “Back at One” singer, 54, called them a “product of sin.”
“I just recently watched a video from Rickey Smiley, who I actually have the utmost love and respect for that brother,” the “Fast & Furious” actor said.
“I want to say to you that it’s unfair, in my grown ass man opinion, to say that that man and his ex-wife [Julie McKnight] and the mother of kids, which are now grown adults past 30 years old — whatever their specific dynamic is — there’s a bunch of things that have been said and done over the years that is nobody’s business and has contributed to where they are.”
Tyrese told Smiley, 55, that it’s “not fair” for people to say that they’ll never turn their back on their kids.
“Kids out here be saying some f–k up s–t. Kids out here be crossing you and doing and saying and going above and beyond to cross you,” he added.

The dad of one admitted that he has not spoken to Brian about his children or his wife, Leilani Mendoza, about their situation because it’s “none of my business.”
“What I am addressing and talking about is I feel like it is not fair to act as if relationships between men and their children that at some point become adults can’t fall apart and can’t become extremely volatile and toxic,” he explained.
Brian has come under fire for how he has publicly treated his biological children: Brian Jr., Niko, Briana and Clyde.
Last year, the “One Last Cry” crooner changed his Instagram bio to say that he was the proud father of his stepkids, Julie and Jack, and his and Mendoza’s newborn son, Brian Kainoa Makoa McKnight Jr. (Brian has changed his legal name to match that of his newborn’s.)
Last month, Brian claimed that his ex-wife, Julie, stopped him from helping Niko amid his cancer battle.
However, in an exclusive statement to Page Six, the mom of Brian Jr. and Niko said: “This is, once again, a response to bait myself & my family into his false narrative. He is a liar.”
