Jenna Jameson released a pointed statement after her estranged wife, Jessie Lawless, confirmed they were divorcing over the former porn star’s drinking.
Jameson told the Daily Mail Tuesday that she hopes “anyone struggling with addiction or trying to stay sober has access to an empathic and loving support system” because addicts respond better to “empathy and understanding” than “judgement, shaming, and moralizing.”
“Expressing your unconditional love and support may be one of the kindest things you can do,” the ex adult film star added. “Let them know that you are there for them — relapse or not, 10 days sober or 200.”
Jameson, 50, added that “attack therapy,” which is used to shame or humiliate a person suffering from addiction, would now “constitute malpractice” in rehab centers.
“It is much more likely that clients will experience greater success when empathy is placed at the forefront of the client care process,” she said.
Lawless, 41, told her TikTok followers in a video that she decided to annul their marriage because Jameson decided to drink at an event that the barber didn’t attend.
“I told her in the beginning of her relationship that I was drawing a hard line and that drinking had led to so many problems in her life that I would not tolerate it at all under any circumstances,” she said in her video.

Lawless claimed Jameson had “no remorse” about her decision to drink alcohol and even shared screenshots of text messages purportedly sent by Jameson that showed a threat of a lawsuit.
“I don’t know how it’s my fault, but maybe I shouldn’t have had such high expectations,” Lawless shared.
The entrepreneur later added in an Instagram Story, “She hasn’t said she’s sorry one time.”
The now-former couple married in Las Vegas in May 2023 at the same chapel at which Jameson’s parents had wed.
The “Queen of Porn” admitted in 2018 that she was worried she wouldn’t be able to lose weight after overcoming her addiction to drugs, which had kept her thin.
“I was disappointed in myself. I was worried I couldn’t lose the weight sober,” she penned on social media. “I’m being real with you. When I was in my addiction it was easy to stay thin. Sobriety and being overweight was new to me.
“I kept telling myself if I could beat addiction and stay sober, I can easily lose the weight… and I did. The healthy way,” she continued, “and as of today I can say my mental game is STRONG.”
