Greta Gerwig quietly gave birth to baby No. 2 four months ago.
The “Barbie” director spoke about her Noah Baumbach’s second child together in an Elle UK cover story published Wednesday.
“He’s a little Schmoo,” she gushed. “That’s very much his energy. He’s a wise little baby.”
Gerwig, 39, went on to say she has been in a “twilight state” since her baby boy’s arrival despite the little one “sleeping through the night.”
She explained, “I’m still doing that thing where I wake up every hour to 90 minutes and just hover. You just keep wanting to look at that baby.”
Gerwig and Baumbach are already the parents of son Harold, 4, who was born in March 2019.
The 53-year-old also shares son Rohmer, 13, with his ex-wife, Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Gerwig told Jimmy Fallon in a December 2022 interview that her family was growing, joking that her baby bump debut the previous month had gone mostly unnoticed.
“I went to an event recently, and I wore something, and I thought everyone would be so interested that I was having another child,” the “White Noise” star, 39, explained.
However, “nobody cared.”
“It didn’t get reported on,” she continued. “Turns out nobody’s paying attention.”
The actress went on to tell the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” audience that she couldn’t tell what her toddler made of the news, as his younger sibling was not yet “existent yet in front of him.”
Gerwig and Baumbach primarily keep Harold’s life out of the spotlight — as well as their relationship.
The couple began dating in 2011, and Gerwig referred to the Oscar nominee as her “fiancé” in 2020.
In January of that year, the screenwriter joked to James Corden that she’s confused about what to call Baumbach since fiancé “makes it sound like there’s an imminent wedding.”
Gerwig added, “Boyfriend’ makes it sound like I just met him last week. Lover’ is disgusting. … So none of it works.”
