Microsoft mogul Bill Gates was spotted lunching with his girlfriend, Paula Hurd, over the weekend at a private club in Manhattan — amid speculation that the pair had gotten engaged.
A rep for Gates on Tuesday shot down reports that Gates had popped the question, after Hurd was seen with what looked like an engagement ring in paparazzi pics of the pair while they were outside in NYC together at a helipad.
Spies tell Pvnew that the duo also lunched at the swanky Aman Club on 57th Street, where we’ve reported initiation fees are six figures.
Said a spy of the duo: “They were having lunch at the bar at the Arman private club. They deliberately sat outside, away from everyone, and faced the bar trying not to be noticed.”
However, the insider added, “When they realized everyone in the club was checking them out, [Gates] waved to several tables on his way out, and everyone smiled back.”
The source added that, “He looked super happy.”
Gates, 67, and Hurd, 61, were first spotted at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in 2022, followed by the Laver Cup at the O2 Arena in London, six months later.
But romance rumors began when they were photographed together at the Australian Open this past January.
Gates — worth an estimated $120 billion — announced his split from wife Melinda Gates after 27 years of marriage in 2021.
Hurd is the widow of former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd, who passed away in 2019 at age 62.
A rep for Gates did not immediately comment.
However, a spokesperson told outlets of the alleged engagement, “Our office can confirm that the ring Mrs. Hurd was seen wearing has belonged to her for decades.”
Gates has been known to be a fan of Aman’s global resorts, along with Mark Zuckerberg, the Kardashians, Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, George and Amal Clooney, Tom Hanks, and members of various royal fams.
