Dalton Gomez reportedly struggled to adjust to life in the spotlight with Ariana Grande prior to their decision to divorce.
The real estate agent — who was first romantically linked to the “Positions” singer during the pandemic in 2020 — was “taken aback” by Grande’s demanding schedule when COVID-19 restrictions lifted, sources close to the former couple told TMZ Monday.
From the paparazzi attention to the “Victorious” alum’s travel schedule, insiders claimed the artist’s fame took a toll on their marriage, especially as the two had to be accompanied by security in public.
The outlet reported that the “differences” in their lifestyles led to them growing apart.
Those issues were further exacerbated when the pop star, 30, traveled to England last December to film the “Wicked” movie.
Reps for the pair did not immediately respond to Pvnew’s request for comment.
Pvnew exclusively reported Monday that Gomez, 27, flew to London in January in a last-ditch attempt to save their marriage, but “it didn’t work out.”
Sources close to the former couple said they have been separated since then and are in the process of getting divorced.
Despite their split, the exes have remained on good terms.
“They came to the decision together,” one insider told Pvnew Monday. “They were having problems before January, but they want to remain best friends.”
According to TMZ, Gomez has been dating other people over the past few months with Grande’s blessing.
The pop star tied the knot with Gomez in May 2021 at her Montecito, Calif., home, six months after he proposed with a unique pearl and diamond ring.
The “Into You” singer, who had been tight-lipped about their relationship, confirmed their love in May 2020 when the two appeared in the “Stuck with U” music video alongside Justin and Hailey Bieber.
Prior to their marriage, Grande was briefly engaged to Pete Davidson.
