The Duchess of York wasn’t cordially invited.
King Charles III left his brother Prince Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, off the guest list for his coronation.
A source confirmed to Pvnew on Thursday that the monarch did not invite Fergie to the May 6 ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.
The snub likely did not come as a surprise for Ferguson, 63, as she had already expressed her suspicions that she would not be welcome on Charles’ big day with his wife, Queen Camilla.
The “A Most Intriguing Lady” author — who was married to Andrew, 63, from 1986 to 1996 — shared during a recent interview that she did not think the king, 74, would extend her an invitation because she is no longer with his brother.
But there seems to be no bad blood, as Ferguson said she plans on having her own celebration for Charles on his coronation day.
“I personally will be having a little tea room and coronation chicken sandwich and putting out the bunting,” she said on ITV’s “Loose Women” earlier this month.
Ferguson separated from the Duke of York in 1992 after six years of marriage, and they finalized their divorce four years later.
The former couple share daughters Princess Beatrice, 34, and Princess Eugenie, 33, both of whom are expected to attend their uncle’s coronation.
Pvnew previously confirmed that Andrew will be there to support his big brother, too, despite his scandalous ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
It’s unclear whether the embattled duke will have a formal role in the celebration considering he was stripped of his royal and military honors in 2022 by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and can no longer go by the title His Royal Highness. He also took a back seat at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year despite being her “favorite son.”
He did, however, attend and participate in the funeral for the Queen, who died on Sept. 8, 2022, at the age of 96.
A source also confirmed to us that Charles’ other siblings, Princess Anne, 72, and Prince Edward, 59, will be attending as well.
This isn’t the first time Ferguson has been snubbed by the royal family, as she was not invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011.
“I didn’t think I was probably worthy to go to their wedding,” she told Town & Country in 2021 while reflecting on her standing with the family at the time. “I took myself to Thailand, actually, to be far away from it so that I could try and heal.”
Ferguson did, however, snag an invitation to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018.
Harry, 38, and Markle, 41, were both invited to Charles’ coronation amid tensions; however, Buckingham Palace confirmed Wednesday that only the Duke of Sussex will be attending.
Pvnew reported that the Duchess of Sussex is skipping the event to stay home in California with her and Harry’s kids: Prince Archie, 3, and Princess Lilibet, 1.
We’re told Markle will be celebrating their son’s birthday, which falls on the same day as the coronation.
