Run (Taylor’s Version).
Several Swifties have now tried — and failed — to complete Taylor Swift’s difficult training regimen since the singer revealed that she started running on the treadmill every day while preparing for her taxing Eras Tour.
Earlier this month, the 12-time Grammy winner told Time that she would sing her entire 44-song Eras Tour setlist while running “fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.”
Following the hours-long cardio sessions, the 34-year-old would then jump right into a specialized strength, conditioning, and weights program.
Since the revelation, some eager fans have documented their experience doing Swift’s shockingly hard workout routine — and it didn’t go very well.
One TikTok user tried to just do the running portion — without singing — yet she only made it until the end of Swift’s “Fearless” set, which is not even a quarter of the show.
“how does she do that for 3 hours omg,” she captioned a video of herself running on the treadmill.
Similarly, another fan decided to give the challenge a try but only made it about a halfway through, joking that Swift must use some type of “sorcery” to be able to simultaneously run and sing for so long.
Meanwhile, a third person went all in, posting a four-minute video of herself running on a treadmill while belting the lyrics to Swift’s set list.
However, she had to stop numerous times during the workout, asking, “Oh my gosh Taylor, how do you do this?”
Many fans were left with a new appreciation for Swift’s athleticism after watching the general population try her brutal training.
“I don’t think I could make it through Cruel Summer lol,” one person commented, referencing the first song in the concert.
“I tried this on zero incline and 3.0 speed and by 30 minutes in I was fighting for air and a seat,” a second person wrote.
“Tried this on my bike ride, was humbled very quickly,” a third chimed in.
“I wonder if she like actually tries to sing at her perfect quality level or if she just doesn’t care about how she sings when she does this,” another wondered.
“I feel like she ran marathons everyday at this point,” a fifth impressed fan added.
Swift didn’t always put so much time into her training. During her interview with Time, the “All Too Well” singer joked that she used to tour “like a frat guy” — which was why she started her running routine six months before her first show.
“I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot,” she said.
On top of the cardio, Swift also “had three months of dance training” in order to get the choreography ingrained in her “bones.”
“I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought,” the hitmaker explained.
During that whole process, the songstress also gave up alcohol.
“Doing that show with a hangover,” she mused. “I don’t want to know that world.”
