Matty Healy knows the questions on everyone’s mind.
During The 1975’s performance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend music festival, the frontman seemingly hinted at his rumored romance with Taylor Swift.
“Is it all a bit? Is it sincere? Will he ever address it?” he asked the crowd. “All of these questions and more will be ignored in the next hour. Ladies and gentlemen, this is The 1975.”
Healy, 34, and Swift, 33, first sparked dating rumors at the beginning of May after the “Somebody Else” singer was spotted at her Eras Tour concert in Nashville.
Around the same time, sources told The Sun that the pair were already “madly in love” — despite reportedly dating for less than two months.
Soon after, the pair raised eyebrows after they were spotted kissing at celeb-hotspot Casa Cipriani in New York City.
An eyewitness told Pvnew at the time that the twosome “sat next to each other at a banquette in the lounge,” where they were “cuddling and kissing.”
Although many Swifties are not thrilled by Swift’s relationship with the controversial rocker, the Grammy-winning songstress says she is happier than ever.
“I kind of feel like telling you, I don’t know, I’ve just never been this happy in my life, in all aspects of my life ever before,” the “Red” singer told concertgoers last week.
“And I just want to thank you for being a part of that. It’s not just the tour. I just sort of feel like my life finally feels like it makes sense.”
Although Healy was not in attendance that night, he was seen sneaking into Swift’s New York City apartment a few days earlier.
Yet it appears her fans aren’t the only ones upset about the new romance.
According to the Daily Mail, Swift’s ex-boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn, feels “slighted” and “distraught” over her “budding romance” with Healy.
A source told the outlet that Alwyn, who split with Swift in February, put his “trust” in Swift when she allegedly told him that she and Healy were just “friends” while collaborating on her “Midnights” album.
“She told him that they had become friends, and he trusted her,” the source said, stressing that there was no “overlap” in the two relationships.
However, many fans think Swift revealed the true reason for her breakup with Alwyn in the new “Midnights” vault track, “You’re Losing Me.”
In the song, the “Lavender Haze” songstress seemingly suggests that the English actor did not want to marry her.
In the song’s powerful bridge, Swift sings, “I wouldn’t marry me either. A pathological people pleaser. Who only wanted you to see her.”
Elsewhere in the song, she wonders, “Do I throw out everything we built or keep it?” before admitting, “I’m getting tired even for a phoenix. Always risin’ from the ashes.”
“Stop, you’re losing me,” she repeats several times in the chorus, adding, “My heart won’t start anymore for you.”
