Alyson Hannigan has her eye on the mirrorball trophy – and she’s pulling in some A-listers for help.
During rehearsals for “Disney100 Night” on “Dancing With the Stars,” the actress and her pro partner, Sasha Farber, received a special surprise visit from Season 31 alum Selma Blair and her beloved dog, Scout.
“Oh, Selma’s the best guest! She was so much fun,” the “American Pie” star, 49, exclusively told Pvnew in the ballroom Tuesday night.
“It was so wonderful to see everybody just surround her with love and, like, even her dog was so excited to be back in the rehearsal studios. She’s just such an inspiration.”
Blair, 51, was also partnered with Farber, 39, when she competed in the dance series last fall.
Hannigan told us the actress gave her some helpful advice heading into week four of the competition.
“Definitely to breathe, and just to kind of leave the weight of the world outside. Just to be present,” she shared. “She was wonderful. She’s the reason I wanted Sasha [as my partner] so bad.”
The fan-favorite contestant – who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018 – gracefully bowed out during the fifth week last season amid ongoing health concerns.
“It’s just great to have her in the [studio] again and she wants to do another dance,” Farber said of reuniting with his former dance partner and friend. “And, you know, taking a photo of us three it was like, ‘Oh, maybe we should bring back ‘Trio Week.’ That’d be so cool.”
Hannigan and Farber danced a jazz routine to “Be Our Guest” as Lumiére and Cogsworth from “Beauty and the Beast” Tuesday night, receiving a combined score of 18/30 from judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
The “DWTS” wardrobe department, along with the hair and makeup team, went all out for the dancing duo’s looks this week, giving Hannigan sky-high hair and glittery eye makeup painted on in the shape of flames to resemble a candlestick.
The “How I Met Your Mother” alum revealed she arrived to the Los Angeles set at 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday to prepare for the 5 p.m. live show, spending “at least three hours” in the hair and makeup chair.
She and Farber had not previously rehearsed in costume, so attempting to dance with the giant wig was a game-changer.
“Dress rehearsal was the first time. It wasn’t even glued on so it was a little more wiggly,” she told us, jokingly adding, “I don’t know if it comes off. I think it might be permanent.”
As previously reported, Farber’s final dance with Blair last year was a tear-filled waltz to Andra Day’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love” during “Most Memorable Year Night.”
“This was a really emotional night for me, because it was filled with so much love for me and my love for everyone here is really, really, really returned,” the “Cruel Intentions” star told Pvnew after the show.
“I learned that I could do things that I didn’t even think I wanted to do anymore. I learned that with passion and [hope] that you could feel as beautiful as the people that you’re watching. That it can be inspiring.”
Season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars,” which also features celebs like Harry Jowsey and Charity Lawson competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
