Taylor Swift’s random connection to the Kansas City Chiefs has been revealed amid her budding romance with Travis Kelce.
The Missouri-based NFL team’s coach, Andy Reid, revealed Tuesday that he knows the Grammy winner’s father, Scott Swift.
“I knew her from Philadelphia. Her dad was a big NFL fan,” the former Philadelphia Eagles coach explained on Outkick’s latest “The Five Spot” episode.
“So I had met her when she was real young, and her dad,” Reid, 65, continued, joking about having “set Kelce up” with Taylor.
He went on to call the singer, 33, a “good girl” who has been “into” watching recent games.
“We’re glad she’s here,” Reid gushed.
The head coach isn’t the only “invisible string” tying Taylor to Kelce, 34, as one of her Eras Tour dancers, Kameron “Kam” Saunders, has a family member who once played for the Chiefs.
The performer’s younger brother is athlete Khalen Saunders.
While Khalen currently plays for the New Orleans Saints, he won two Super Bowls with Kelce as a defensive tackle for the Chiefs from 2019 to 2023.
“How much u wanna bet this is how she got travis’ number,” one fan wrote via Twitter of the connection amid speculation over who was the “mastermind” behind Taylor and Kelce dating.
Fox Sports commentator Erin Andrews has taken credit for the relationship due to her and “Calm Down” podcast co-host Charissa Thompson encouraging Taylor to consider the “Catching Kelce” alum after he tried — and failed — to give her his phone number at a show.
“[Taylor], I know we’re not the best of friends, we’re not even friends, but I consider you one. Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy,” Andrews, 45, said in a September episode.
On Monday, she jokingly volunteered herself and Thompson to officiate the pair’s wedding during a “Late Night with Seth Meyers” appearance.
Andrews also gushed about Kelce’s new “glow” on the “Today” show Tuesday.

Taylor and Kelce have been making headlines all month, with the pop star attending three out of four of the Chiefs’ latest games — but they hard-launched their romance over the weekend in New York City.
Not only did the duo step out hand in hand on both Saturday and Sunday, but they were spotted “kissing throughout the night” at a “Saturday Night Live” afterparty.
“Travis and Taylor seemed to really be enjoying the night, and each other,” an eyewitness told Pvnew of their PDA.
Fans have since pointed out that the songwriter’s signature red lipstick appeared smudged on their way into the party, while Kelce’s mouth had a slightly reddish hue, hinting at a secret makeout session.
