Grant Hughes wants nothing but the best for his estranged wife.
Just one day after Pvnew confirmed Sophia Bush is dating soccer star Ashlyn Harris, a rep for Hughes exclusively told us he is happy for the new couple.
“Grant will always want the best for Sophia, and is supportive of all that makes her happy and fulfilled,” the rep confirmed Wednesday.
The FocusMotion Health cofounder and “One Tree Hill” alum walked down the aisle in 2022 but announced in August they were calling it quits after 13 months of marriage.
Pvnew’s source revealed Tuesday that Bush and Harris’ relationship is “very new” but that they are
“definitely a couple.”
“After being friends for years, and running in the same social circles, Sophia and Ashlyn went out on their first dinner date a couple of weeks ago,” another source claimed to People.
“This is so recent, and they are both beginning new chapters.”
The pair spoke on a panel at the Cannes Lions advertising festival in June, which is where insiders tell Pvnew the romance began.
The former USWNT and Gotham FC goalkeeper, 37, is also freshly separated from her spouse, as she filed for divorce from her wife of four years, Ali Krieger, in September.
The pair share two adopted kids: a 2-year-old daughter Sloane and a 1-year-old son Ocean.
Neither Hughes nor Bush, 41, have commented publicly on their divorce at the time of this writing, but the latter wiped her soon-to-be ex-husband off her Instagram feed and switched her last name back to her maiden name on the platform.
The breakup news came shortly after the actress celebrated her first wedding anniversary to Hughes with a loved-up Instagram post. “
Today marks 365 days of calling you ‘husband,’” she captioned a since-deleted photo of her and Hughes on their wedding day.
The entrepreneur responded with a post of his own in which he called their first year of marriage “full, beautiful, dynamic, exciting, [and] growth-filled.” He has since deleted the post as well.
Despite the shocking split and subsequent removal of any trace of the relationship on social media, a person close to the estranged couple said the divorce is amicable.
“Sophia and Grant were friends for 10 years and bonded during COVID through their love of community service,” the individual claimed last week. “They continue to run their nonprofit together and remain good friends.”
Although there is no word from the “Chicago P.D.” star, she has seemingly been living it up following her split from Hughes.
She let loose at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in August, where she was seen rocking out to the breakup anthem, “I Knew You Were Trouble.”
The next month, she wore her wedding reception dress to Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour.
