Justin Timberlake made his pro-choice political views public knowledge years after pressuring Britney Spears to get an abortion.
The “Mirrors” crooner and his then-girlfriend, Jessica Biel, attended a rally for presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008 where the couple urged attendees to vote for the Democratic nominee.
During the event, the “7th Heaven” star freely spoke about women’s rights, telling the crowd, “Nobody should be able to say what you can do with your body.”
Timberlake joked in response, “I give Jess the right to choose where we go to eat all the time. The funny thing is, what the woman chooses is usually right.”
The *NSYNC member’s views came to the forefront again in 2022 when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade after 50 years.
Although he didn’t issue his own statement on the matter, Timberlake, 42, retweeted his now-wife’s emotional response.
“I am enraged. What happened today is not only a disgusting step backward for women – undermining our ability to make decisions for our own bodies… but it’s also dangerous,” Biel, 41, tweeted at the time.
“You didn’t ban abortion, you banned access to SAFE abortion. #BansOffOurBodies.”
Spears, 41, reveals in her forthcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me,” that she became pregnant with the “Palmer” actor’s baby in late 2000, and the former couple decided to terminate it.
“I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she writes.
“But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
The “Piece of Me” performer admits she “agreed not to have the baby” but appears to have some regrets about the decision they made more than 20 years ago.
“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it,” she reveals.
“And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
Sources previously told Pvnew exclusively that Timberlake had been “concerned” about what Spears was going to reveal from their relationship.
“It’s eating at him,” one insider shared, while another insisted the tell-all was “not a takedown” of anyone in particular.
The former Mouseketeers started dating in 1999 when they were teenagers and endured a highly publicized breakup in 2002.
