She’s American — and he’s her London boy.
Fans are speculating that The 1975 frontman Matty Healy gave a not-so-subtle nod to rumors that he and Taylor Swift are dating by singing “She’s American” at his band’s concert in Manila, Philippines, Thursday.
“DID MATTY JUST PLAYED [sic] SHE’S AMERICAN???? IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DATING RUMORS BETWEEN HIM AND TAYLOR SWIFT????” one Twitter user wrote alongside a video of the group performing the 2016 song.
The peculiar setlist choice came one day after a report that Swift, who grew up in Pennsylvania, is dating England native Healy following her breakup with longtime beau Joe Alwyn.
Another fan at Thursday’s concert called out Healy, 34, online for “trolling” people by singing the tune, which was on the group’s 2016 album, “I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It.”
While The 1975 has occasionally played the tune on their At Their Very Best tour, which kicked off in Connecticut in November 2022, fans noted that Healy made an interesting quip at the start of it Thursday.
“She sure is!” the crooner said before the first verse.
Fans have started to notice other secret clues pointing to a Swift-Healy romance that they previously missed, including a photo that his mother, Denise Welch, posted on Instagram in January.
“Oh what a night at a sold out 02. So proud I can’t even begin!!” the English actress and “Loose Women” co-host, 64, captioned a series of pics, one of which featured Swift, 33 — who at the time made a surprise appearance during The 1975’s show at The O2 Arena in London.
Last month, Pvnew confirmed Swift had split from Alwyn, 32, after six years of dating.
The Sun reported earlier this week that the “Blank Space” singer has moved on with Healy, and the musicians are already “madly in love.”
“It’s super-early days, but it feels right,” an insider claimed, adding that the two “very briefly” dated “almost 10 years ago” but called it off because “timings just didn’t work out.”
Healy and Swift were romantically linked back in 2014 after they continuously showed support for the others’ music.
Both artists wore each other’s merch during concerts and public outings, and Swift has been spotted numerous times attending Healy’s performances.
While neither has commented on their alleged new romance, fans seem to believe Healy is using his band’s music to do the talking.
