He’s made it to the Super Bowl of style.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Matthews, hit the 2023 Met Gala red carpet yesterday, making their debut at the annual fashion fête in coordinating monochromatic looks.
The 2023 Super Bowl champ, 27, looked sleek in a black Boss suit and a pair of dark shades, wearing a white dress shirt with a Nehru collar.
He skipped a tie in favor of a chunky diamond chain necklace, sporting black studded loafers without socks.
As for Matthews, 27, she was also dressed by Boss, wearing an off-the-shoulder white gown featuring a high slit and sparkling silver trim along the top.
The mom of two wore her blond hair in an updo with loose strands framing her face, adding dazzling diamond drop earrings, a matching bracelet and strappy silver heels.
Fans had a mixed reaction to their Met Gala appearance after the couple — who married in a lavish Hawaiian wedding last year — shared Instagram photos documenting the night.
“Very classy,” one commenter wrote on Patrick’s post. “Not over the top Met Gala style. Kept it classy and classic.”
“QB1 looking stylish” another added, while one of Matthews’ fans wrote, “Wow absolutely stunning, this might be my favorite gown ever [heart eye emojis] Patrick looks sharp also.”
Others weren’t digging the vibes, like one fan who commented, “Why the hell are They there??” and another who wrote, “This is beneath you Patrick.”
The NFL star and his wife weren’t the only sporty couples in attendance last night.

Serena Williams and her husband, Alex Ohanian announced their second pregnancy on the red carpet, while WNBA star Brittney Griner and her wife, Cherelle, made their Met Gala debut after the basketball player was released from detainment in Russia.
This isn’t the first time the Mahomeses have coordinated their style, like the Kansas City Chiefs red looks Brittany and daughter Sterling, 2, sported to cheer the quarterback on during this year’s Super Bowl or the family outfits they wore on a celebratory trip to Disneyland after the big game.
As for their Met Gala moment, we’ll call this look a fashion touchdown.
