Gisele Bündchen recalled the terrifying moment her daughter, Vivian, suffered an intense injury while horseback riding.
“She had a fall and she broke her arm,” the Brazilian supermodel recalled in an interview with People published Tuesday.
“Three years ago, and then she didn’t ride. She had to put a pin.”
Bündchen remembered watching in “slow motion” as her now-10-year-old daughter — whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady — was practicing high jumps.
“When she got up from the horse … her arm was bent. And she was like, ‘Mom!’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God,'” she explained.
In that moment, the mom of two held her emotions together to avoid freaking Vivian out.
She told her daughter, “‘Oh it’s okay. Let’s just come with Mommy.'”
“It was one of the worst days of my life,” Bündchen, 43, said, adding, “It was intense. And then she … had to have the cast and she had to do another surgery to remove the pin.”
At the time, the bestselling author was certain Vivian would never get back on a horse. But a year after her pin was removed, she started riding again.
“Just the western kind. It was just easy on the beach,” Bündchen said.
“When we went to Costa Rica, we were just riding easy. And then she, little by little, at first she was just riding with me on the saddle, and then she started riding alone a little bit, slower.”
Within a few months, Vivian had conquered her fears.
“She was like, ‘Mom, I want to go back jumping again.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay.’ She overcame that fear that was really real for her,” Bündchen said.
While the supermodel is proud of her daughter’s bravery, she previously said that she won’t be buying a second horse for Vivian anytime soon — despite snatching up a $9 million Florida estate with stables.
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel shares her daughter and 13-year-old son, Benjamin, with Brady, 46.
Last month, Bündchen admitted she was still healing from their split after 13 years of marriage.
“It’s been very tough on my family. It’s been a lot — in every area of my life,” she told People.
The former couple finalized their divorce in October 2022 after the NFL star decided to return to football following a brief retirement.
At the time, the exes announced their breakup on Instagram, sharing that they “grew apart.”
Since then, they have maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship for the kids, who traveled to Africa with Brady and vacationed in Costa Rica with Bündchen over the summer.
