Kanye West reportedly tied the knot with Bianca Censori for “religious reasons.”
The couple legally wed because they wanted to “be intimate,” a source told Us Weekly Tuesday.
However, the pair ultimately decided to exchange vows because they are “also in love.”
According to the insider, “Kanye and Bianca were legally married last year when they had their private ceremony in Beverly Hills, it was real and legal.”
The couple’s marriage, which was previously believed to be non-legally binding, was revealed last week to be legitimate in the eyes of the court.
The two tied the knot on Dec. 20, 2022, using a “confidential marriage license,” per documents obtained by the Daily Mail.
The ceremony took place less than a month after the “Donda” rapper finalized his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
As listed on the marriage license, West, 46, and Censori, 28, were married in Palo Alto, Calif.
At the time, a source told the outlet why they preferred to keep the details of their nuptials “hush-hush.”
“Ye has been a megastar for two decades and counting, and his first marriage was to someone who lives almost full-time in front of a camera,” the insider said.
“Bianca and Ye have a totally different vibe. They are very private, very affectionate and totally devoted to each other. I think they both enjoy carving out time that’s just for them.”
Meanwhile, the “Praise God” rapper has been vocal about his evolving religious beliefs over the years.
In 2019, West started his invite-only Sunday Service series, during which he remixed his popular hits into gospel songs. That coincided with the release of his gospel-themed album, “Jesus Is King,” which was met with mixed reviews.
“Now that I’m in service to Christ, my job is to spread the Gospel, to let people know what Jesus has done for me,” he said in an October 2019 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.
While Censori hasn’t publicly addressed her own religious beliefs, she and her husband have been spotted attending church together during their relationship.
West’s eldest daughter, North, has even joined the couple for services in Los Angeles.
The Yeezy designer shares four children with his ex-wife Kardashian: daughters North, 10, and Chicago, 5, in addition to sons Saint, 7, and Psalm, 4.
