Anna Wintour and boyfriend Bill Nighy made their Met Gala debut Monday night.
Although the couple has attended other public events together, this is the Vogue Editor in Chief’s first time walking with the “Love Actually” star at her big event — and they arrived arm-in-arm.
We hear Wintour’s closest friends are friends are “thrilled for them to be making it official at the Met.”
Nighy has attended previous Met Galas solo.
For their big debut, Wintour wore Chanel spring/summer 2023 couture in honor of the Karl Lagerfeld-themed event, while the “Kindness of Strangers” actor opted for a classic black suit.
“It’s very emotional for me,” Wintour, 73, said on the carpet. “I loved Karl so much.”
Wintour and Nighy, 73 have been been sparking romance rumors since 2018 when they were first seen taking in multiple plays together.
At the time Nighy brushed off rumors of a romance, saying, “There are a lot of rumors about me and probably about Anna.”
However, their close friendship appeared to turn romantic in February 2020 when they dined together and eyewitnesses told Pvnew the glossy bigwig was “beaming” the whole night.
“She looked happy and in very good company. She was beautifully made-up and she was smiling so much — she had her sunglasses off the entire time!” the source shared.
“They were sitting together in a corner enjoying a frothy coffee.”
Nighy split from his long-term partner, actress Diana Quick, with whom he shares daughter Mary Nighy, in 2008.
Wintour was first married to David Shaffer from 1984 to 1999. The former couple share 35-year-old daughter Bee and 37-year-old son Charlie.
She then married Shelby Bryan in 2004 but divorced in 2020.
